Where do I begin!
MODE has been with me since my very first day of college, and I am so glad that it has carried itself with me since. I am so grateful for this club as well as the position that I hold within it, and all the fun that we have while getting to produce something so awesome. This last semester has been one of my favorites yet! I want to thank my incredible E-Board— you guys make this club so special. I am so happy to know that I have a group of both extremely hard workers, but also, such wonderful friends. Thank you for always handling my craziness with a smile on your face! I truly got so lucky this semester. Additionally, Thank you to ever member of MODE who has lent their time and energy to building this project— you are the reason why we can hold this magazine in our hands today! I am so grateful and appreciative for all of you, and I can’t wait to goof around with you on Zoom again soon. I hope you love this edition of the mag as much as I do, and once again, Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
Much love,
Editor-In-Chief
I have been a proud member of MODE Magazine since my very first day at Fordham University, and it has been an integral part of my college journey. Joining as a photographer, I had the privilege of working alongside an incredibly talented group of individuals who inspired me with their creativity and passion. Being part of this vibrant community has honed my skills and fostered lifelong friendships and invaluable experiences. As someone who deeply values photography and fashion, I’m excited to contribute my vision and leave my mark on the magazine’s legacy as
Photo Editor. MODE has been a cornerstone of my time at Fordham, and I’m beyon grateful for the opportunity to grow with this team. Sighed your Photo Editor,
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to write to you all from the position of Co-Creative Director! Being on MODE has been such a fun and genuinely freeing experience. As a STEM girlie, I hardly get to use my creativity, and MODE has given me that chance. MODE comprises some of the most talented, beautiful, and passionate individuals I have ever met - and collaborating with everyone has been such a privilege. Working alongside my fellow co-creative director, Jenna, has been a blessing as she has shown me the reigns and helped me enter this position. Words cannot express how grateful I am to everyone on MODE for making this magazine come together - we couldn’t have done it without you all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart - cheers to many more semesters of beautiful, meaningful, and inspiring art. Hey readers, I am so excited for you all to see this semester’s edition of MODE! I am a longtime lover of this magazine, and it is truly my privledge and joy to be able to bring MODE into fruition each semester as a creative director. A Big BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to this edition. Everyone’s little contributions coming here together in one place is what makes MODE so magical…so…without further adieu…enjoy this incoming wave of nostalgia with MODE’s Afterschool Special <3 MODE is the best part of every semester for me. I love and appreciate everyone’s hard work, dedication and creativity— to see it all come together in this beautiful way is always so wonderful. I am so grateful to the incredible MODE creative team and to be able to assist on this issue.
How did “Le Puzz” come to be?
Special Thanks to Le Puzz for taking the time to chat!
M: “We come from families that were puzzle families. We grew up doing this. I have a lot of memories of my mom’s puzzle collection in the attic always coming down during holidays and special family occasions, but it kind of stayed in that world for me. Until the pandemic.”

M “Let’s just do what we want to do, and curate this— let’s treat it like an art project.”
What are, in your opinion, some of the strengths of Le Puzz’s design?
M: “We wanted to create something that stops you when you encounter it. A big yellow box, to start, is a bold choice. Yellow, generally, is not a color that necessarily attracts people, but Le Puzz is yellow.”
How do the photoshoots for your puzzles come to be?
A: “It works a little diferently every time. The photoshoots themselves are a mix of flling in gaps or using things we already have— [I] collect a lot of junk. Really really cool junk. Our studio is packed with little collections of things, and sometimes we will make the collections for the photographs. It’s a brainstorm of what around us is inspiring to us.”
When it comes to working at such a cool company, what does a typical day-in-thelife look like?
: “ e re always trying to ome up with ideas or stuf. The wheel never stops turning at Le Puzz.”

A: “Were just silly. And we don’t have anyone to tell us no!”

Did you guys always plan to have the boxes be their own thing? Or was it something that came later in the company?
M ichaelHunter
M: “That was 100% on our list. Puzzles form the 70s always had a little something extra on the back. I used to collect skateboarding VHS’s, and the packaging would always have these little easter eggs. I just remember being like, “That is so cool!” I had never thought about something like that before, and I wanted Le Puzz to feel that special.”
A: “I think it goes back to being artists, and not just making sh*t to make sh*t.”
Whats your favorite puzzle you’ve made?

M: “Kindness is Contagious, was probably the most outrageous and fun thing we’ve ever done. But also Heads.”
