BID Partners with Westervelt to modernize Moundville, AL Planermill featuring the New Artificial Intelligence Enabled Robotic Trim Block System

BID Group announces it has received a new turnkey order from Westervelt Lumber to modernize their existing planer mill in Moundville, Alabama. Through its industry-leading wood processing technologies and integrated solutions offering, BID will manage, design, build, equip, install, and provide full start-up services for the project. The new operation will incorporate the full spectrum of BID’s best-in-class wood processing technologies.

Working with an industry leader like BID provides the confidence that this major project to further enhance our capabilities will be done right and delivered on time.”

The modernization will incorporate the full spectrum of BID’s best-in-class wood processing technologies including equipment, software, and automation systems. It will feature the very first robotic trim block management system, BID’s latest innovation. Through its strategic partnership with Yaskawa Motoman, BID has become the first industry Original Equipment Manufacturer to offer robotic solutions using Artificial Intelligence.

BID to invest $5 Million in the modernization and expansion of its St-Ephrem, Quebec facility

BID Group, a North American leader in sawmill equipment manufacturing, automation, installation, and life cycle service, is pleased to announce its plans for a $5 million strategic capital investment to expand its St.Ephrem, Quebec facility.

The facility will grow by 18,000 square feet, representing a 35% increase in manufacturing space. The larger area will allow for the assembly of the more complex equipment to meet growing demand. The expanded facility will contribute to increasing BID’s ability to deliver its comprehensive line-up of innovative technologies to its highly valued customers.

We are excited to be expanding our presence in the Beauce region of Quebec and to be adding more high-quality jobs to our existing 450-person workforce.” said Adam Infanti, Chief Financial Officer at BID.
