ISSUE Rethinking of park in the future There had been more and more trees died because of city construction frequently. What if the park in the future those trees can be reused becoming a moveable unit , while the trees be move-in or out , it suddenly create a different scenery and using type. it is not only saving those trees but also create a transplant landscape which both have leisure and transplant function.. The issue is facing: URBAN PROBLEM +.How to create a system to saving and loading tree as a bank in the city ? + What are software and hardware device will be needed?.

AS A PARK + In this treebank system, how to deal with human activity and tree’s transplantation?

ORIGINAL METHOD The way Taiwan’s government treat the trees on construction site is to transplant them to government’s undeveloped land or to the marginal land at suburban which are usually far away from their grown-up land, moreover, usually aren’t good options to grow trees.

NEW DESIGN Locating large-scale transplanting park and creating connection between nearby parks not only can decrease tree death ratio by more quickly delivery, but also can fit all the trees to various places better depends on each of their condition.

NEW SYSTEM OF TREEBANK The process of tree transplanting is the most crucial part deciding the live or death of the trees. Since then, this project uses the standard transplanting procedure as the basis of design development. There are four systems form this transplanting park, and they are dealing with the root, water, transportation, exhibition of this park.

Transplant period

The initial design action is zoning, using the diameter of crane car’s working area as basis. As a result, the whole area is divided into five zone and the crane cars can locate any trees at any places. The next step is to arrange the irrigation system, which response to such changeable environment.After irrigation system, is to construct a crane system extend out from the greenhouse so that it will be much easier to deploy trees and take care the sick one.

PATTERN OF TREES

CONTROALING DENSITIES & ACTIVITIES The tree box is a 5 meters by 5 meters unit. There are fixed tree boxes in the center and around the central area is the changeable tree boxes. The more central the changeable tree boxes is located, means the tree in it will be replaced more frequently.

Season is the main factor of the arrangement of the trees in park. The transplanting rate of spring and winter are usually lower than the rate of fall and summer. As long all different kinds of trees are movein and move-out, the special character of this park will be different. This part is trying to prescribe a set of rules to control the arrangement of trees to form the activity space.

TREE HOSPITAL

This south-located greenhouse is the threshold of whole transplanting park. Before moving a tree into the park, health examination is a necessary task. All the sick trees will be cured in the greenhouse and separated from the health trees. After the treatment, the trees shall be delivered into the park.

OPERATION PROCESS OF TREE HOSPITAL


Detail Of The Tree Box An empty tree box is a platform paved by punched-plate, with four columns at the button, by adding roofs or walls, people can conduct various activities in the tree box. There are several different types of tree box to contains from shallow-root to deeproot trees. Also, there is different equipment that can meet different need of different tree.

Irrigation system With four pipes attach on, the tree box can water the trees around.

Glasses Glass can show people the Soil condition and the underground environment that growing trees.

Cable system Using cable to enforce the structure of tree box.

Punched-plate Aiming to fit different kind of trees’ need,there are several kinds of punched-plate that can be installed on tree box.

Steel column Steel column can lift up the punchedplate from ground, for better draining.

Steel structure Steel structure can hold the glasses and supporting the weight of soil and tree.

AFTER The operation of old factory lacks efficiency for several reasons, including bad-organized circulation, piling up too much debris in the factory, in the mean time, the unloading area, which is too close to the road, always cause traffic problem. One of the main attempt to introduce the incubator is to reorganized the programs of factory, not only want to make more space, but also want to make the operation more productive.

SITE Located at the commercial are of Taipei, planted with many trees.

PROJECT EVOLUTION Aiming to preserve all the trees on the site, the massing of the hotel retreat from the border of the site.Considering that the rooms of hotel and near by apartments willbother each other, the massing retreat from the border of the site and use the trees as a soft fence.

This gutter device use various sets of holes with different density to irrigate different amount of water for different tree. The supporting structure of this device is the additional structure attach on the tree-supporting structure. gutter SITE The site of this project is a undeveloped land with many trees planted at Naihu, Taipei.This project try to narrow the distance between people and trees.

Since the site is located on the windward, sloping roofs is applied to this project to reduce drag. Aiming to reduce the delivery cost, steel and timber are selected as the main materials of this project.
