Dugout Today we take our minds of league action as we welcome Rangers to Station park in the 4th round of the SSE Scottish Womens Cup. Rangers are familiar opposition for us this season after facing twice already this season in league and league cup action. Our record over the last couple of seasons against Rangers has been reasonably good, picking a couple of wins in that time. However, this season we have yet to reach those levels against Rangers but that is something we are all eager to change. Rangers pose considerable threat to us with their pace and movement in the attacking third so we know that if we are to get a result then we need to all be acutely aware of what is required to nullify their threat. Last time out at Station Park we took on Stirling University, in a game which saw us gain a point and also our first clean sheet of 2019. In that game Beth Mowatt, Maria McSherry, and Melissa Coull all made their competitive debuts at senior level, with all three making significant contributions throughout. Last week we travelled to play Spartans in what turned out to be a frustrating defeat in the end. There were plenty positives to take from the game however we need to become more of a threat in the final third if we are realistically going to kick on in the last part of the season. Today presents us with an opportunity to progress to the last eight of the competition and allow us to lay the foundations from which we can build upon for the coming weeks. Enjoy the Game!
captain’s column Hello everyone thanks for your continued support on behalf of the girls I would like to welcome you back to Station Park. After our Edinburgh road trip last week that didn’t quite go our way we are happy to unexpectedly find ourselves at home today. A welcome break from the league pressures as we compete in the Scottish Cup. We have been working hard in training all week in preparation for today’s opposition Rangers.
