Again, stay focused and do your best through the remainder of the year. Continue working hard in your classes and in other areas of cadet life and endeavor to finish this year strong. As a faculty and staff, we are very proud of the hard work and determination shown by so many of you.

It is hard to believe but we are rapidly approaching the final days of the 2011‐ 2012 school year. As I have grown older, the years seem to fly by at break‐neck speed and this year is no different. Of course, the cadets will tell you that this year has gone by like molasses in January. I have watched the personal growth and development of our Middle School Corps of Cadets and I am pleased with what I have witnessed. They are a remarkable group of young men who have grown exponentially over the past eight months. I have asked them to leave their comfort zone and learn a multitude of rules and regulations. They have met and exceeded my expectations at every turn and I am quite proud of them. Have a great summer and enjoy your vacation. You earned it. See you in August.

Middle School Cadets Take Manhattan
Nine cadets recently enjoyed a long weekend in the Big Apple, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. Traveling by Amtrak, the group arrived in New York on March 29th and attended the NIT championship game at Madison Square Garden that evening. During the next several days, the NYC metro system took the group to the Empire State Building, Ellis Island and the Statute of Liberty, Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, Times Square, Chinatown, and the seaport district. The boys enjoyed a brief appearance on the “Today” show, where they got the chance to chat with Ann Curry, a co‐host of the program. The boys also enjoyed attending the Broadway show, “Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark.” After worshiping at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Palm Sunday, the boys boarded the train on April 1st to return to FUMA, exhausted but filled with memories of a great weekend.
