CE CERTIFICATION REAL SAFETY FOR REAL NEEDS Safety is the most important aspect when purchasing motorcycle boots so Forma has made CE approval on its products a must. Forma boots are EN 13634:2002 tested and updated in the same legislation in 2010; EN 13634:2010 which is the specific protective footwear requirement for motorcycle riders. CE certification is obtained only after specific and strict tests are made by Ricotest, a credited Italian testing and research center. Nella scelta della calzatura da moto la prima valutazione viene fatta sulla sicurezza quale caratteristica più importante. È per questo motivo che Forma in collaborazione con l’ente certificatore italiano Ricotest ha deciso di certificare CE la maggior parte della sua gamma. Tutti i prodotti Forma certificati CE hanno così superato la totalità dei test obbligatori di sicurezza per le calzature da moto richiesti dalla normativa EN 13634:2002 e dalla stessa normativa aggiornata nel 2010, EN 13634:2010. Dans le choix lors d’un achat d’une botte de moto, la sécurité est un des éléments le plus important. C’est pour cette raison que Forma en collaboration avec le laboratoire de certification italien Ricotest a décidé de certifier CE la majeure partie de sa gamme. Tous les produits Forma certifiés CE ont résussi la totalité des tests de sécurité obligatoires pour les bottes de moto. To find a motorcycle boot with a correct and comfortable fit, it’s essential that it features a last that is specifically designed for motorcycle use. To satisfy all of the various motorcyle segments in the best possible manner, we have developed 13 different lasts: 10 are dedicated to the road and adventure categories, 3 in the off-road category.

Ogni motociclista al momento della scelta di una nuova calzatura tecnica da moto valuta sempre con maggiore attenzione la calzata. Per ottenere una calzata precisa e confortevole è fondamentale avere una forma studiata appositamente per l’uso motociclistico. Per soddisfare tutti i vari segmenti in modo appropriato, sono state sviluppate ben 13 forme diverse delle quali 10 dedicate al mondo stradale ed adventure, 3 al mondo off-road.

Lors du choix de bottes techniques, les motards font attention à la forme et à l’ajustement d’une botte. Pour être vraiment ajustable et confortable, la botte doit essentiellement avoir une forme spécifique pour l’usage moto. Pour couvrir tous les différents segments moto, de la meilleure manière possible, nous avons développé 13 formes différentes: 10 désignées pour la catégorie urbaine (le touring) et adventure, 3 pour la catégorie off-road.

DRYTEX TUBULAR LINING

The majority of our waterproof boots, with exception to the OutDry® range, feature the booty system. The seams in the reinforced and personalized Drytex membrane are thermowelded to avoid water penetration but still assure breathability. The EVA covering on the midsole guarantees maximum shock absorption and the booty from being damaged.

REINFORCED TPU PROTECTIONS

Safety is further guaranteed thanks to TPU moulded plastic protections in all critical shin, ankle, heel and toe areas. La sicurezza in tutti i punti critici è garantita da protezioni interne in TPU. In particolare alla tibia, ai malleoli, alla punta del piede ed al tallone sono dedicate protezioni specifiche. A.P.S. (AIR PUMP SYSTEM)

La maggior parte degli stivali impermeabili della gamma Forma, ad eccezione della gamma OutDry®, usano il sistema Booty. Questa tecnologia consiste nel creare un calzino con la membrana Drytex dove tutte le cuciture sono termosaldate garantendo quindi la traspirabilità ed impedendo all’acqua di penetrare. La copertura del sottopiede in materiale EVA consente il massimo assorbimento delle vibrazioni e protegge la calzetta da eventuali danneggiamenti. La majorité de nos bottes étanches, à l’exception de la gamme OutDry®, possède le système de «booty»: chausson en membrane Drytex placé entre la doublure et le cuir. Air is pumped from a specific centralized position in the A.P.S. perforated footbed to the entire insole; consequently, air circulation within the boot keeps feet cool and comfortable. The Ice Pro and all OutDry® touring models will feature the personalized microfiber covered A.P.S. insole. MIDSOLE

All of the midsoles used in the Forma range have specific elements to suit different motorcycle footwear needs. In general the midsole must be flexible in the front and stiff in the heel area. Front flexibility improves gear control and enhances easy walking while a stiffer back assures perfect foot stability on the foot peg. EVA covering on the midsole is featured in all Forma waterproof boots while felt covering is used in almost all of the remaining boots to guarantee extra comfort and shock absorption. The different motorcycle segments require different degrees of front flexibility and rear rigidity when riding. This is why the Forma range offers 3 different midsoles to its consumers.

SOTTOPIEDI

Tutti i sottopiedi usati nella gamma Forma hanno elementi specifici per soddisfare l’uso motociclistico delle calzature. In particolare il sottopiede deve essere flessibile nella parte anteriore e rigido nella parte posteriore. La flessibilità nella parte anteriore garantisce sensibilità nel cambio e facilità nella camminata mentre la rigidità posteriore garantisce la stabilità della calzatura sulle pedaline della moto. Le coperture in EVA negli stivali impermeabili ed in feltro nella quasi totalità dei rimanenti garantiscono extra comfort e l’assorbimento delle vibrazioni. I diversi mondi motociclistici richiedono gradi diversi di flessibilità anteriore e rigidità posteriore della calzatura. Ecco perché la gamma Forma offre alla propria clientela 3 sottopiedi differenti.

DUAL FLEX MIDSOLE A contoured shaped nylon injected midsole to offer standard front flexibility. The stiffness in the back is ensured by a central embossed insert which is injection moulded. This midsole is used in the entire racing line and a part of the touring collection.

E’ un sottopiede iniettato in nylon ergonomico e sagomato con una flessibilità standard nella parte anteriore. La rigidità nella parte posteriore è assicurata da un rilievo centrale iniettato e sagomato. Usato su tutta la gamma racing e parte della gamma touring.

SEMELLE INTERMEDIAIRE

Toutes les semelles intermédiaires utilisées dans la gamme Forma ont des caractéristiques techniques spécifiques pour répondre aux différents besoins des utilisateurs. En général, la semelle doit être souple vers la partie avant du pied et rigide vers la zone du talon. La souplesse avant améliore le contrôle du sélecteur de vitesse et rend la marche normale et agréable. La partie arrière rigide permet d’assurer une parfaite stabilité du pied sur le repose-pied. L’EVA (Ethyle Vinyle Acétate) est un matériau qui permet d’amortir et d’absorber les chocs. La plupart des semelles intermédiaires Forma sont composées d’EVA pour garantir un confort optimum en absorbant les vibrations et les chocs. Les différentes gammes de moto nécessitent différents degrés de flexibilité et de rigidité pour s’adapter aux différents types de pilotages. C’est pourquoi la gamme Forma propose 3 types de semelles pour ses motards.

Une forme profilée en nylon injecté pour offrir une flexibilité antérieure standard. La rigidité postérieure est assurée par une pièce de renfort moulée par injection à l’intérieur de la semelle intermédiaire. Cette semelle est utilisée dans toute la gamme Racing et une partie de la collection Touring.

MID DUAL FLEX MIDSOLE A contoured shaped polypropylene midsole to offer medium (higher) front flexibility. The stiffness in the back is secured by a steel insert. This midsole is used in the touring/adventure and urban ranges.

OUTDRY® TECHNOLOGY

OutDry is a new patented process which allows the lamination of the membrane directly to the upper. Thanks to this unique process, OutDry® is able to enhance the comfort and the performance of the boots, especially if compared to the traditional and standard waterproof bootie system which creates a gap between the boot and the membrane. In rainy or snowy conditions, water penetrates and remains trapped inside between the bootie and the upper. The foot remains dry, but the boot becomes much heavier and the membrane breathability is reduced due to the humidity and stagnant water. On the contrary, with OutDry® technology the membrane is firmly bonded to the inside of the upper and there is no possibility of creating extra space. The footwear remains water-free, lightweight and breathability is maintained. ®

LA TECNOLOGIA OUTDRY®

OutDry è un processo brevettato che prevede l’applicazione (laminazione) diretta della membrana sulla tomaia. Grazie a questa caratteristica unica, OutDry® offre prestazioni e comfort nettamente superiori rispetto al sistema di costruzione tradizionale caratterizzato dalla presenza di un calzino impermeabile separato dalla tomaia che crea un’ampia intercapedine. In condizioni di pioggia o neve l’acqua penetra attraverso la tomaia e riempie lo spazio tra questa e la membrana impermeabile. Il piede resta asciutto, ma la calzatura si impregna d’acqua appesantendosi e la traspirabilità della membrana viene notevolmente ridotta proprio dallo strato di umidità. Al contrario, nelle calzature con tecnologia OutDry®, la membrana è solidamente unita allo strato interno della tomaia e non vi è nessuno spazio dove l’acqua possa penetrare. La calzatura non si impregna, resta leggera e mantiene costante la sua traspirabilità. ®

LA TECHNOLOGIE OUTDRY®

OutDry® est un nouveau procédé breveté, qui permet de laminer la membrane directement à la tige. Grace à ce procédé unique, OutDry® est en mesure d’améliorer le confort et la performance des bottes, surtout si on le compare au système de chausson imperméable traditionnel et standard qui crée un espace entre la chaussure et la doublure. En cas de pluie ou de neige, l’eau pénètre et reste emprisonnée à l’intérieur, entre le chausson et la partie supérieure. Le pied reste au sec, mais la botte devient beaucoup plus lourde et la respirabilité de la membrane est réduite en raison de l’humidité et de l’eau stagnante. Au contraire, avec la technologie OutDry®, la membrane est solidement thermocollée à l’intérieur de la coque supérieure (cuir par exemple) et il n’y a aucune possibilité de créer un espace supplémentaire. La chaussure reste donc légère car sans eau et la respirabilité est maintenue.

OUTDRY® ADVANTAGES TOTAL WATERPROOFNESS ELEVATED BREATHABILITY The lamination of the membrane keeps water on the outside surface; therefore, feet remain dry and are completely isolated from humidity.

The OutDry® membrane has elevated water vapor permeability. Since the laminated surface does not contain any seam-sealed tapes the surface is completely breathable.

UNMATCHED COMFORT

PERFECT FIT

The OutDry® system creates a much larger volume of dry air between the foot and the waterproof barrier; this dramatically reduces the risk of condensation from excess foot perspiration and helps maintain stable skin temperature.

No folds, no seams, no seamsealing tape and a 3mm waterproof barrier guarantee the perfect fit and maximum comfort.

LIGHTWEIGHT

Thanks to the OutDry® system, water cannot penetrate inside the boot, leaving no room to stagnate between the upper and the lining so the boot is extremely lightweight. Water absorption is limited to only the external upper material so the boot dries much faster.

OUTDRY® ADVANTAGES ASSOLUTA IMPERMEABILITÀ La laminazione della tomaia tiene l’acqua all’esterno dalla calzatura; quindi il piede oltre che asciutto è completamente isolato anche dall’umidità.

ELEVATA TRASPIRABILITÀ La membrana OutDry® ha una altissima permeabilità al vapore acqueo. La surperficie laminata è totalmente traspirante in quanto priva di qualsiasi tipo di nastratura.

COMFORT IMPAREGGIABILE L’ampio volume di aria asciutta creato fra piede e barriera impermeabile riduce fortemente il rischio di condensa da eccessiva sudorazione e contribuisce a mantenere costante la temperatura dell’epidermide.

CALZATA PERFETTA Lo spessore impermeabile di tre centesimi di millimetro, l’assenza di pieghe, di cuciture e di nastri di sigillatura garantiscono il massimo comfort.

LEGGEREZZA Il sistema OutDry® impedisce all’acqua di penetrare e di ristagnare tra tomaia e fodera garantendo la massima leggerezza. L’assorbimento dell’acqua è limitato solamente alla parte esterna della tomaia facilitando quindi l’asciugatura della calzatura.

CONFORT SANS ÉGAL Le système OutDry® laisse un volume d’air sec beaucoup plus grand entre les pieds et la barrière imperméable, ce qui réduit considérablement le risque de condensation et aide au maintien d’une température stable des pieds.

AJUSTEMENT PARFAIT Aucun pli, aucune couture, aucune bande de raccord d’étanchéité et une barrière étanche de 3 mm: un ajustement parfait et un confort maximal garantis.

LÉGÈRETÉ INCOMPARABLE Le système OutDry® ne laisse pas pénétrer l’eau entre le revêtement extérieur (comme le cuir) et la membrane, l’eau ne stagne donc pas et n’augmente pas le poids de la chaussure. Cette technicité limite donc l’absorption de l’eau au revêtement extérieur, ce qui permet à la botte de sécher plus vite.

Forma, in collaborazione con Inuteq®, presenta il sistema brevettato COOLING BOOT. Il sistema consente di mantenere il piede fresco ed asciutto, elevando il livello di comfort e performance della calzatura da moto anche nelle condizioni atmosferiche più calde. Il sistema di regolazione della temperatura si basa su un processo di evaporazione attivato con l’impiego di SOLA acqua. Per raffreddare il piede basta infatti utilizzare una minima quantità d’acqua (max 15ml), ottenendo un raffreddamento di lunga durata. La capacità di raffreddamento del sistema brevettato dipende dalla temperatura e dall’umidità esterne oltre che dal flusso d’aria: in caso di elevata umidità diminuisce leggermente la capacità di raffreddamento che va dai 5°C ai 15°C, mentre l’efficacia nel tempo varia da un minimo di 8 ore fino ad una massimo di 72 ore. Maggiori sono la temperatura esterna ed il flusso d’aria, maggiore è l’effetto di raffreddamento. COOLING BOOT è stato realizzato con inserti di materiali ventilati che permettono (durante la guida) all’aria esterna un accesso agevolato: maggiore comfort e freschezza!

Ce nouveau système, COOLING BOOT, permet de garder vos pieds au frais et au sec et d’augmenter le niveau de confort et de performance globale de votre botte moto, même dans les conditions climatiques les plus chaudes. Le système de régulation de la température est basée sur un processus d’évaporation activée par l’utilisation de l’eau SEULEMENT qui diffuse de la fraicheur et rafraichir le pied. Pour refroidir votre pied, une quantité limitée d’eau suffit (15 ml max) pour obtenir un effet de refroidissement de longue durée. La capacité de refroidissement de ce nouveau système breveté dépend de la température extérieure, du taux d’humidité, ainsi que du débit d’air. La capacité de refroidissement est de 5 ° C à 15 ° C et la durée de l’effet de refroidissement varie de 8 heures minimum jusqu’à 72 heures. Plus la température extérieure et le flux d’air sont élevés, plus l’effet de refroidissement global est important. COOLING BOOT SYSTEM Forma in cooperation with Inuteq®, presents the patented COOLING BOOT system. This new system will keep your feet cool and dry, raising the level of comfort and overall performance of your motorcycle boot even in the hottest weather conditions. The temperature is regulated based on the process of evaporation which is activated automatically with the use of water ALONE. To cool your feet a limited amount of water (max 15ml) is needed to obtain a long cooling effect. The cooling capacity of this new patented system depends on the outside temperature and humidity, as well as the air flow factor. FLEX CONTROL SYSTEM

The evolution of the already well-known F.C.S. is featured in the top of the line Forma off-road Predator boot. Flexing is encouraged and controlled by the double pivot which permits a safe and natural flex movement in the ankle area while riding. The pivot was designed to give immediate and maximum response to our riders. Two rear stops were added to the two pivots (at the flex points) so backward flexing is blocked at maximum 33° (thus offering protection to the rider from eventual injury). Another important safety feature is the structure of the torsion system which prevents abnormal lateral movements in the ankle (maximum torque allowance is 15°). The basic version of the F.C.S. is featured in both the Dominator and Terrain Tx series, supporting both in freedom of movement and protection thanks to the anti-torsion structure. PROTECTIONS AKIRA C.L.M. SMART AKIRA C.L.M. SMART is the first protector on the market that can be used in two different ways and for two different purposes. This new and unique patented protector system, features an exclusive quick fastening/unfastening system called SMART that joins or divides the two parts that make up the protector. AKIRA C.L.M. SMART can, in fact, be used as a back protector (FB: Full Back Protector) or only the bottom half for your lower back lumbar area (LB: Lower Back Protector). Both of the protector devices are CE approved pr EN 1621-2:2013 (Level 2). Once divided the protector easily fits into your motorcycle case!
