PROGRAM OPTIONS Ages: 3-4 Fee: $251 per (4) week session Thursday/Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm The three- and four-year-old AM class is a recreation-oriented program and is a good introduction to group activities. Children will experience simple arts and crafts, show and tell, circle time, organized games and supervised free play.

Ages: 4-5 (3.5 year-olds may qualify) Fee: $301 per (4) week session Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9:00am - 12:00pm or 1:30pm - 4:30pm

2021-2022 School Year: Aug. 16 - June 3 Fair Oaks Preschool’s focus is on the social development of children ages three through five years old.

Children will benefit by developing their social skills through art, projects, stories, songs, games, and outside play. Children will also have the opportunity to develop their independence, selfhelp, and sharing skills and learn to follow directions.

Our free-flow structure and developmentally-appropriate curriculum provide an environment where each unique child can learn and grow, and where parents can learn more about their children.

The four and five-year-old classes are based upon a nine-month curriculum designed to prepare a child for elementary school. Cooperation and sharing are emphasized in games, music and movement, arts and crafts, academics, and supervised free play throughout the year.

REGISTRATION DETAILS 2021-2022 Registration will take place in April 2021. Information and how to sign-up can be found at www.forpd.org/382/3125/Registration beginning March 15, 2021.

Yearly non-refundable registration fee of $90 due at time of registration. Children currently enrolled in the program have priority to re-enroll.

Bring the world of Minecraft to life as Play-Well classes go virtual! Build engineer-designed projects and learn new building techniques over Zoom with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor.

Encounter practical real-world STEM concepts while learning from and connecting virtually with other young Minecraft enthusiasts, and be sure to watch out for Creepers! With the specialized kit of LEGO® materials that are included in the cost of the program, kids will have everything they need to take their LEGO® building at home to the next level.

TRAINING CLASS 1 Learn how to use a clicker, food lure, and no marker properly and effectively. We will also teach your dog to sit, lay down, leave it, drop it, and one fun trick of your choice. Class is open to all breeds and ages.

PEDIATRIC FIRST AID/CPR Ages: 12+ Fee: $78 Materials Fee: $20 Location: Zoom & Village Park This Medic First Aid Course covers infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid and AED certification. Save time and money by receiving this two-year, EMSA approved, certification. This course is required for licensed preschool teachers, daycare workers, educators, and coaches. However, anyone can benefit from these life-saving skills. *The educational training will take place on Zoom 4/6 & 4/8 from 6p-8p. The class will meet in-person 4/10 from 9a-1p in Village Park to put education to practice.

Fun games and activities introduce your child to the game of soccer in an exciting and engaging environment. The Kinder Kicker and Juniors Classes run concurrently with each other and there may be overlap between groups.

TINY TOT SPORTS Ages: 3-5 Fee: $39 Location: Fair Oaks Park Tiny Tot Sports is a great way to introduce young athletes to team sports. Your young athlete will learn the basics of playing on a team and develop the fundamental skills of the sport. Come play the Tiny Tot way!

Our younger players focus on increasing balancing skills, coordination, and fundamental soccer skills, while also developing the concepts of group sports.

H.I.T.S TENNIS Ages: 4-10 Fee: $53 Location: Miller Park H.I.T.S (Honesty, Inspiration, Teamwork, Sportsmanship) is USTA’s premier beginner's tennis youth program that incorporates the fundamentals of a team sport while placing an emphasis on life skill enrichment. With this program, the use of modified equipment allows young players to learn and play more effectively. Kids will participate in fun activities while learning the fundamentals of tennis in a safe and supportive environment.

CADETS (AGES 8-13) This fast-paced program develops and strengthens your player's technique of core skills, while also developing more advanced technical skills. Our curriculum incorporates fun challenges and multiskill combinations to continually challenge players as they work through a series of exercises that introduce basic to advanced 1v1 foot skills. Players work in an environment where they are encouraged to be creative and to gain confidence in using a variety of skills. This program is intended for all players, from new to soccer to competitive levelplayers.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, body positioning, etiquette, and keeping score. The program is specifically designed for the entry-level player, simplifying instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided.

Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting, and serving. This program is designed for the beginning to intermediate players.

BASIC HORSEMANSHIP Ages: 8-15 Fee: $163 Location: Shadow Glen Riding Stables This is a four-week introductory class that teaches the history, major breeds, horse care, grooming, saddling, handling, and how to care for horses. The Western lifestyle and ranch setting are emphasized.

THIS IS NOT A RIDING PROGRAM. Children will receive approximately 10-15 minutes of riding time during classes 2-4. Anyone interested in learning more about horses and planning on pursuing riding will find this class fun, informative and helpful.

LEARN TO KAYAK FOR BOOMERS Ages: 50+ Fee: $72 Location: Lake Natoma You have not had this kind of fun since you were a kid! We all know adventure and exploration are not just for teenagers, and here’s an activity to rekindle your youthful enthusiasm for many years to come!

ZUMBA FITNESS FOR ALL AGES

Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst for kids ages 0-4, the Zumbini® program combines music, dance, and educational tools for 45 minutes of can’t-stop, won’tstop bonding, learning, and fun! Classes will be held outdoors. Parent participation required. In the event of rain, a make-up class will be held last weekend of May.

Zumba is an exercise class that combines dance and fitness. It is inspired by Latin music and uses Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, and Reggaeton moves.

The music is fast, slow, and designed to give you aerobic benefits, anaerobic (toning), and helps you de-stress by providing a fun party-like feel. That’s why it’s also called Exercise in Disguise.

RACHEL ANNE GRAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Rachel Anne Gray scholarship was established in honor of Rachel Anne Gray who passed away September 2, 2012, at the age of 21. Rachel was a member of the Fair Oaks Youth Advisory Board, graduated from Bella Vista, received her degree from CSU, Sacramento, and was a valued member of the Fair Oaks Community. Scholarships in the amounts of $1,500-$250 are awarded annually to deserving high school seniors.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S MEETINGS The FORPD Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6 PM in Village Hall, located at 7997 California Avenue, Fair Oaks.

(During COVID, the Board of Directors will meet virtually on Zoom until further notice.

Scheduled Meetings: 3/17/2021 | 4/21/2021 | 5/18/2021 It is advised to contact the Administrative Office prior to attending, as Board meeting dates and times are subject to change.

Jim Streng Park is getting real close! A mandatory pre-bid meeting was held the week of February 12th. Contractor bids are due on February 23rd and we'll take one of those bids to the Board of Directors at the March meeting (unless we decline to accept any of the bids). Upon approval of a bid, we can send a notice to proceed which will begin construction on the project within one week. The construction start date is expected in late March or early April.

We're still waiting on final approvals for projects in the Village.

The permitting process with the County is taking quite long due to Covid-19 related delays. We're still hoping to begin construction on this project around May 2021. Demolition of the salon building in the park will likely begin earlier than that, but we are still waiting for the demolition plan from our architects before we begin. The expected start time will likely be April or so.

1. Online Registration: Visit forpd.org to register online with Visa, MC or American Express.

2. Walk-In Registration: Fill out the registration form at the District Office, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. Cash, Check or Credit cards accepted. Checks should be made out to FORPD 3. Mail-In Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees. Please do not mail cash. Mail registration to FORPD District Office 4. Drop-Box Registration: Accepted with a complete registration form and correct fees.

Please do not drop cash. Drop-Box is located at the District office to the left of the front door for after-hours drop-off.

5. Phone-In Registration: Register over the phone for select events/programs/class. Must be in our system as a previous customer. Fax-In registration form with credit card # to 916-9669863.

GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The District reserves the right to cancel or modify any class and/or program. Classes may be canceled three (3) days prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met.

2. Resident/Non Resident: Residents are those who live within the Fair Oaks area. All others pay the non-resident fee (indicated by non res).

3. If paying at class, you may only pay with a check made out to FORPD or with a credit card.

EMERGENCY REPORTING IN YOUR PARK, DIAL 9-1-1 For non-emergencies regarding park security vandalism suspicious persons, or suspicious activities in your parks, call the District office at 916-966-1036 Monday through Friday during business hours. After business hours or on weekends, call 916-240-3651. If you need immediate law enforcement assistance or to report illegal activity, please call the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.

REFUND POLICY 1. A full refund will be given if the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District cancels the program or for medical reasons.

2. The online convenience fee is non-refundable.

3. No refund will be issued after the class or program has had its second meeting.

4. All refund requests will be approved or denied by the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District. All refund checks will be processed through the County of Sacramento and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks.

5. The Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District reserves the right to adjust the refund policy, depending upon the circumstances and the severity of the situation. All refunds are required to submit a refund/transfer request form to be approved by District Staff.

6. The policy does not apply to events and vendors.
