KNOW ABOUT HEART FAILURE heart disorders

HEART FAILURE Top Cardiologist in India, Heart failure is a misleading name, as the heart does not suddenly stop beating but simply fails to pump blood the way it should. Estimates vary, but the condition takes a toll of 1.3 to 4.6 million lives annually in India. Per the top cardiologist in India, the condition is preventable with a few lifestyle changes.

TYPES Left Side Heart Failure Left side of the heart is home to the left ventricle that pumps oxygenated blood to all body parts. When the left ventricle is rendered incapable of functioning, the body is denied oxygen, leading to left-sided heart failure.

RIGHT VENTRICLE Right Side Heart Failure The right ventricle directs the blood into the lungs to gather oxygen. If it fails to live up to the workload, the right-side heart failure is inevitable. Often, it’s a result of left-side heart failure, as the right ventricle has to push harder to make up for the nonfunctioning left ventricle.

SYSTOLIC HEART FAILURE Systolic Dysfunction The condition occurs when the heart muscle is unable to generate the desired force when contracting. This means that oxygenated blood is not pumped into body parts in the required proportions.
