MIAMI IN THE NEWS Miami is a good investment
Perez Art Museum Puts Miami on the Map Source: www.oceandrive.com
As you arc over the MacArthur Causeway, you’ll see a stunning billboard for Miami— not the Scarface Miami, not the Kardashian Miami, but the Miami of the future, what we could be. The billboard is not a photograph but a new public art museum. It sits, a series of voluminous interconnected boxes seemingly suspended above the ground and shaded by a vast overhanging canopy, in what will be a rolling park gladed with indigenous hardwood hammocks and back-dropped by the new gleaming condo towers of downtown. US home prices still rising as demand fails to slow Source: www.propertywire.com
Existing home sales in the United States declined for the second consecutive month in October but constrained inventory means that home prices continued to see double digit year on year gains. The latest data from the National Association of Realtors shows that total existing home sales fell 3.2% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.12 million in October from 5.29 million in September, but are 6% higher than the 4.83 million unit level in October 2012. International buyers continue to boost the real estate market in Miami Source: www.propertywire.com
Home prices in Miami, one of the most popular markets for overseas buyers in the United States have increased for 23 months in a row year on year. The latest figures from the Miami Association of Realtors show that last month the median sales price for a Miami home was $220,000, a significant increase of 18.9% when compared to $185,000 during the same period last year. Moreover, median condo prices also showed double digit appreciation. The median sales price for a Miami condo was $170,000, an increase of 17.2% from the year ago median price of $145,000. Foreign buyers, multifamily homes mark Miami market Source: www.therealdeal.com
Foreign investors feel more at ease putting their money in the Miami real estate market than in countries with a shakier economy such as Venezuela and Argentina. These buyers’ deposits are increasingly funding construction of many condominium projects and providing firmer financial support, the Wall Street Journal reported. Miami Redeveloped: Plans for New Movie Studio Source: www.worldpropertychannel.com
The city of Miami’s downtown area is undergoing an arts renaissance and will soon include a new movie studio. (...) The Magic City is enjoying cultural and economic growth, positioning itself as a major metropolitan city. Last week thousands of visitors descended on the city to enjoy Art Basel Miami Beach, the nation’s largest art fair. During that time, some were able to witness the opening of the Perez Art Museum Miami, next to the Adrienne Arsht Center and neighbor to the site of the future Frost Museum of Science.
