Our parks The playgrounds at Sun Hill Rec and Arlebury Park have had a full refresh - painting, repairs and a good clean. In Arlebury Park playground, the spider has been repainted and for the first time he has a name. We received 23 suggestions and our thanks to everyone who took part especially Alfie who came up with the winning name. Our spider is now called Incy and has this stencilled on his back.

We are also delighted that the little wooden boat has been beautifully repaired by Alresford Men’s shed and given a lick of bright red paint. Our grateful thanks to them for their skill and care. We know our younger residents will be pleased the little red boat is back in action ready to set sail on more adventures. Get ready to come aboard but watch out for pirates!

Bulb planting Alresford Rotary, and the School Council from Sun Hill Junior School together with Councillors have planted over 1000 daffodil and crocus bulbs in Arlebury Park. The children planted bulbs around the new trees and Rotary members

planted crocuses near the new hedge in Arlebury Park and on the Avenue near to the entrance to the park. We can't wait until Spring arrives when they are all in bloom. Our grateful thanks to everyone involved.

Town Crier The Town Crier - Dave Parsons - visited Alresford on Saturday 4th December and he was given a warm welcome. We asked him to "cry" about events happening in Alresford such as Rotary selling Christmas trees in Broad Street and the festive activities at St John's Church. Our thanks to Dave, this is a unpaid role and we happily pay a donation for his services to Alton Town Council Charity fund.

Councillor Surgery The Town Councillors enjoyed meeting residents during their Street Surgery on Saturday 4th December. We will respond to feedback by providing more information on local events and groups in the visitor information point in West Street. More surgeries are planned and we will keep you updated as soon as dates have been agreed.

Poppies This year's poppy appeal raised a record total of £9,961.95 in Alresford. The local appeal organiser thanked everyone for their generosity and praised the poppy displays around the town for helping to highlight the appeal. So, our huge thanks again to the wonderful knitters and Alresford Men's Shed.
