Greetings!
As Mayor of Fargo, it is my pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to everyone attending the Fargo AirSho on July 20 and 21, 2019 at Hector International Airport. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Demonstration Team will be headlining this year’s show. The last time they performed in Fargo was at the North Dakota Centennial AirSho in 1989. The Thunderbirds have showcased the pride and precision of the U.S. Air Force to millions of people in the United States and worldwide since 1953. The team currently flies six F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, demonstrating formations and precision aerobatics.
Other exciting performances at this year’s AirSho include: Red Bull Team Chambliss and the Red Bull Skydive Team; University of North Dakota graduate Jeff Boerboon and his YAK 110; Michael Wiskus and his Lucas Oil Pitts S-1-1B; North Dakota’s own Kent Pietsch and his single engine plane “Jelly Belly;” some of the best high-flying, death-defying motorcycle action and motorcross stunts by PiNN-iT FMX Riders; and new to this year’s show, Jake Hatch and his Black Sheep Skid, a skid-steer loader that Hatch puts through stunts with razor-edge precision and gravity-defying accuracy.

You will find many unique shops and fine eating establishments in Fargo and an abundance of services and activities that are of the highest quality and readily available to you.

What do you get when you combine two fairly ordinary aerobatic airplanes into one unique airframe and add a jet engine? You get an airplane with two piston engines, one jet engine, two fuselages, two cockpits, two tails, four main landing gear, and approximately two wings.
Built by master aircraft builder Dell Coller and flown by champion aerobatic pilot Jeff Boerboon, (pronounced “bourbon”), the Yak – 110 was created by combining two single-engine Yak – 55 airframes and a Lear 24 jet engine into one very strange looking, but incredibly innovative multi-engine aerobatic aircraft. While the Yak – 110 may look strange, anyone who saw it fly this year at EAA AirVenture, or one of the handful of other airshow where it performed, was likely amazed at its incredible performance and innovative aerobatic capabilities..

degree program. He earned his ratings up through multi-engine instructor and flew his first aerobatics in the school’s CAP 10B While working as an instructor, he built about 300 hours in Super Decathlons doing spin, tailwheel, and aerobatic training.
After college, aerobatics took a back seat as he began pursuit of an airline career, first flying Grand Canyon air tours for two years before going to work for a regional airline. In 1999, he was hired by a major airline where he still flies today as a captain.
Mike’s air show career is a testimony of how dreams really can come true. As a 2002 U.S. National Aerobatic Champion, and a member of the 2004 U.S. Aerobatic Team, Mike has traveled the World with the same aircraft you will see him performing in at your air show. His excitement for aviation and willingness to share his experience with people around the country is nothing short of contagious in his attempt to help encourage kids of all ages, to not only dream, but to live their dreams and never give up!
Forty years later, Mike has accumulated more than 25,000 flight hours and has qualified in more than 40 aircraft. He keeps a very busy schedule as a full time air show pilot flying the Lucas Oil stunt plane April through November. “It is incredible to be part of the Lucas Oil Team. Their products as well as their integrity make what I do even more rewarding.”
