P1: Speculative Landscapes

In the first stage, I showed how I can express the texture I drew in my project with only one material. The first material I chose was play dough. Because it was the material that can take shape easily and express the worn texture I want best. In the second stage, I showed what I was trying to express with two materials. I added a sponge on the dough. Because besides the deformations in the tissue, it was necessary to see the protrusions.

I showed that the texture can be examined better in micro and macro drawings. There is a visual resembling the bottom of the sea, so this project is called Deep Sea. Over time, I have expressed the wear and tear textures in micro and macro drawings.

P2: Amphibians

I designed a structure in Bebek, where people can relax and feel above the sea. The structure strengthens people's relationship with the sea because it is above the sea. This structure is a place where you can rest, observe, feel the smell of the sea and the sound of the waves while walking on the beach.

A half-open, half-closed area to make the wind feel better. Closed areas are covered only with glass so that they can see the sea better. Why on the beach of Bebek? Because there are many cafes on the opposite side of the beach, there is no area where people can feel close to the sea. It is not mobile like boats and it is an area that gets the sunlight better.

P3: Extreme Storage

TaĹ&#x;kale, which is in Karaman, is a town on a slope and provides its livelihood with agriculture and animal husbandry. The older population has increased in recent years as the young population migrated to study and work. Women, who also made their living in weaving in the old years, stopped making weaving as the population decreased.

The granaries in TaĹ&#x;kale are carved into a rock made of limestone by human hand. There are no stairs or steps on the rock, the people reach the warehouses by getting support from the cavities on the surface of the rock. Since the limestone keeps the heat and humidity constant, the grains could be stored intact for 30 years.

We often met donkeys, goats and lambs around, as livestock breeding was provided. I was able to observe the sounds, smell and manure they made in the places where they were stored. They used the garden of the school in TaĹ&#x;kale as a warehouse and stored the building materials there.

There were plants growing around. Because the plants that accumulate on the rock where the granaries are grown, they only had plants accumulated next to the stream as they grew in the moist area.

Although TaĹ&#x;kale houses were old and destroyed, most of them had green spaces on their roofs. I observed the accumulation of stones in the houses by stacking. I thought that the houses overlapping at different levels may be an example for the accumulation of houses. Birds were constantly placed in the hollows with granaries. They used it like a resting area. So I could hear their voices clearly.

Birds are placed at the door of the granaries. Birds can be observed there at any time of the day. Citizens prepare the mixture of barley, wheat and oats and leave it to the birds of the village. The empty spaces in the granaries are the main ones.

Why is that? Instead of being placed in high places such as the granaries of the birds, it is both an area where they can find feed more easily and an area for the public to benefit from bird manure.

What is stored? Bird manure. Why is it stored? To be used as a livelihood and to increase the amount of crops to be obtained from agricultural land. When are they stored? Once in the spring, at the end of the summer and at the end of the growing season, that is, once in the fall.
