Apart from the exhibitions and educational programs, FotoDepatament often takes part in different art-projects, organizes series of open meetings, inviting famous photographers, curators and gallerists, as well as free movie shows, where one can see both films about the classics of photography and some films by young photographers themselves. A very important organization’s activity are the constant portfolio-reviews, where FotoDepartament invites young photographers to show their works and get some advice from the professionals from different spheres of photography. Slideshow movies by young Russian photographers Foundation “FotoDepartament” commenced a new trend in modern photography – support and development of multimedia projects, creation and promotion of multimedia and slideshow movies. The films are created by young photographers, for whom photography is more than just a picture, and for whom a slideshow movie is a story told in photos – through the combination of photography, movement, sound, video, music and other components, it makes the viewer feel a whole spectrum of senses. In the first edition of the project there are the slideshow movies made by young photographers from different parts of the country who represent all the possible genres of photography – from documentary to set photography. Saturday movies The “Saturday movies” project is part of FotoDepartament’s program of support of the multimedia projects. Every show is devoted to one of the many themes in photography – from fashion to war photography, art and social aspects as well.
