TEACHING MINISTRY Purpose The purpose of the Teaching ministry is to build, and empower the church in the knowledge of His word by raising mature believers with sound Christian life and culture who will in turn disciple others for Christ. The Teaching ministries have duties to the following areas. 1. The Believer’s & Baptismal Class Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings…Isaiah 58:12
Purpose: The purpose of the believer’s & baptismal class is to teach converts about the rudiments of the Christian faith with the aim of ensuring that converts are established in the Christian faith. The foundation of any good building must be solid. We cannot just "teach over it", we must expose and correct. This is not easy, as people have a strong tendency to believe the first thing they are taught, right or wrong. Old foundations must often be torn out and new bricks must be put in, and we must attempt to do that without impeding the spiritual growth of the object of God's love in the believer. Wrong teaching must be exposed, so that the disciple can reject it. False teaching can only be exposed by the light of God's Word. If false teaching is not replaced by truth, the person can be confused and double-minded. Because of this, disciples can expect to hear things that will be new, and perhaps conflicting with what they had been previously taught. Through the believer’s class, a new believer should be taught the rudiments of Christian faith and groomed in faith to have a deep understanding of the word. Through the baptismal class, a born again Christians should be taught the fundamentals of baptism, importance and the doctrines of the RCCG regarding baptism. 2. Workers Training Program We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us…2 Cor. 5:20a

They should also be further followed up, trained and equipped with the tools necessary to serve in the capacity God has called them to or in various ministries in the church. 3. Train-the-Trainers Program Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…Matt 28:19
Purpose: The purpose of the Train the Trainers is to raise and build teachers It is important that individuals who have a passion for teaching and impacting God’s word into the lives of individuals should be trained especially those involved in believer’s class teachers, Sunday school class teachers and workers in training teachers & co-ordinators. 4. Sunday School Program That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…Eph. 4:14-15
Purpose: The purpose of the Sunday school department is to teach the word of God in a way that it would have impact in the life of the members of the congregation.
8
