While you settle at the dinner table to have your favourite pasta with sausage, fennel and spinach; million residents in UK including children are without a meal. ‘At the nick of Time’ –Welwyn Hatfield First Client
Bull Stag Green, Hatfield Neighbours take the first LEAP “Three homes gave donations on Sunday! Guess that is a start!” says Cathy Baker of Bull Stag Green of Neighbourhood food drive". Welwyn Hatfield areas are teaming up with the foodbank through a neighbourhood food drive to help feed the hungry in our community. This raises awareness about how much need there is in our community.

Hunger is no longer a third world problem. “Just released from the prison, struggling to buy food as benefits haven't been sorted out as yet, WH foodbank stepped in with an emergency foodbank pack, up to 3 days meal.” Local people are going hungry from reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Making A Difference Life is not about how much you get but how much you give up for it. Volunteers are living to expectation as they participated in their first volunteer preparatory class on the 14th of August 2011. Well done to you guys for all your commitment and hard work, this is the just the beginning of an exciting experience says Tosin Onabanjo, the foodbank coordinator. Come and along and make a difference with others. No minute, hours, days spent is too short/ long. Pop in Mondays and Fridays 11am to 2pm to find out about how you can make a difference.

‘Church raise food for foodbank’ We have received over half a tonne of food items from individuals, churches and organization. We would like to thank Rev’d Fiona Wheatly and the members of St John’s church for continuous donation of food items. You have taken on a great responsibility to help those who cannot provide for themselves and constantly remind all Christians to live up to God’s word in service. Could you, your school, business or church hold a harvest collection and donate non-perishable food to help support local people going hungry? Thank you!
