FRESH ::: THINKING Welcome to Matrix, the new British tackle brand for match and feeder anglers of all abilities and pleasure anglers who use match styles and methods. The ethos behind Matrix is simple. To design and produce tackle which helps you catch more fi sh. Tackle which meets your needs and how you fi sh, using the latest methods, offers innovative solutions and provides excellent value.

As you will see when looking at the new Matrix product range, there are some outstanding products which offer a superior alternative to what is already available. We call it fresh thinking. Highlights include items from many different product groups ranging from rods and luggage through to feeders and small baiting accessories. The Carpmaster rod range, designed for the largest section of modern match fi shing (commercial waters), includes a revolutionary feeder rod design and made-up transport solution. Since their launch last year these rods have received fantastic reviews by the angling press and anglers are now fi nding out just how good they are. Horizon rods, developed for maximum distance casting, and designed in conjunction with top feeder anglers who often fish at 90m plus, offer anglers fishing large waters stunning casting performance combined with sensible fish-playing actions. Seatboxes are now an important part of modern angling, which is why we have developed the new Matrix Superbox. Based on popular 25mm legs, the minimalist black chassis oozes class and the drawer and tray units are some of the best engineered examples you’ll ever see. To complement the seatbox is a range of hardware called Snag-free. These products feature a revolutionary snag-free knuckle design which greatly reduces the chance of line getting snagged in the mechanism. There is also a new pole roller which comes with a new feature called a ground spike. This enables you to use the roller directly at ground level, perfect for fisheries where there is a small bank behind the peg. As a company that looks at providing new solutions, we pay special attention to the smaller things too, things that can really make a difference to your catch rate. The new Evolution Method feeders are a classic example of our ethos. Available in two models these new feeders let you use larger hookbaits like large pellets and boilies more effectively and the new ‘Squeeze and Feed’ mould, which can be used with almost all Method feeders, is quite simple the most effective way to load a Method feeder we have ever seen. Nearly all of the products in the Matrix range are unique. MATRIX RODS The new Matrix rod range has received excellent reviews by all who have seen them. The range covers a wide range of match and general fishing styles and has been developed for both UK and European anglers. There are currently four ranges. The Carpmaster has been designed for the latest match carp fishing methods and covers everything from short range feeder work to long range Method feeder fishing and also all float methods. The Horizon range is designed for long range feeder fishing, primarily on large European waters where distance casting is essential. HARDWARE Using the correct Seatbox and Accessory Hardware is important if you want to fish effectively and the Matrix range has been designed to do just that. To suit most of the popular boxes now available all Matrix seatbox accessories feature a 25mm round Snag-Free fitting which provides an easy to adjust and secure connection. The range currently includes a selection of Accessory Arms, Groundbait Bowl Hoops and a Pole Sock with Roosts, Side Trays and Feeder Arms to be added throughout this year. Matrix also produces a brilliant Super Flat Pole Roller in two sizes, with a unique Ground Spike which enables the roller to be used without the legs - perfect for high sloping banks, other Rollers are planned for later this year. Also in the range are three brollies including the much talked about Space Brolly which has a revolutionary rib system which delivers much more usable space under the canopy. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT To enable Matrix to produce tackle suited to the specific requirements of anglers throughout Europe, we have a very active in-house design and development department. This is the direct link between our ideas and our manufacturers and gives us excellent control of both the design and final quality of all Matrix products.

Almost all of the products in the Matrix range has been designed from scratch, using our ‘Fresh Thinking’ philosophy. The design process starts with an idea for a new product that will enable you to fish more effectively, often as a result of discussions with top anglers. This idea is then visualised by our design team and specified to deliver maximum performance. Initial prototypes are then produced for testing, adjusted and tested again until we are totally satisfied with their performance before going into production.

Carpmaster rods are easy to transport in a made-up state. The transport rod holder block holds the sections parallel to each other and firmly in place without the need for rod bands. At the heart of the easy transport system is the rod holder transport block. Assembling a Carpmaster rod is easy to do. Firstly remove the sections from the rod holder block. All feeder rods have a separate short butt section which is easy to place on the main section. This has been designed to remove the main joint from the playing section of the rod. 1. POLE SEAT The top quality pole seat is comfortable and practical with a strong moulded pole butt recess for using with pole rests. Features a built-in shallow winder drawer.

2. SPIRIT LEVEL A spirit level, to ensure a perfectly level set-up, is concealed on the front of the pole seat and hidden by a protective sliding cover.

3. FAIL SAFE DRAWER UNITS The Drawer units are some of the best available. Strong and secure, they work in a modular way to suit your preference and are available in two versions - Deep (50mm) or Shallow (25mm).

4. TOP UNIT CONNECTION The top units connect onto a plate which is situated on the top of the chassis frame. The advantage of this is that you can place exactly which unit you want directly onto the frame.

5. ADDITIONAL STORAGE

MATRIX SUPERBOX 1 The new Matrix Superbox 1 is a top of the range seatbox designed for the most demanding match anglers. Built on a hollow round aluminium chassis for strength, the Superbox 1 uses 25mm round legs for stability, all of which have telescopic adjustment for perfect levelling. The ‘Squeeze and Feed’ Method Mould is the best mould we have ever used. It works with a wide range of different consistency groundbait mixes and also pellets from micro up to 2mm. Simply ﬁll the mould, push the feeder into the groundbait (or pellets), turn the mould over, squeeze the base and the loaded Method drops out cleanly.

You can use groundbait or pellets in the ‘Squeeze and Feed’ Mould. The unique design enables you to use a wide range of different mixes (including sticky versions) and pellets up to 2mm.

PENCIL In recent years slim bodied ‘Pencil shaped’ floats have become more popular with both carp and silver fish anglers. The three models in the Matrix range covers all requirements. SIGHT TIP Designed for fishing medium and deep stillwaters, the Sight Tip floats offer fantastic sensitivity in rough conditions. Both have long stems for stability and extra long carbon tips, with thicker plastic sight tips. These extra long, thin tips keep the body under the surface skim and combined with the long stems reduce the amount of movement on the float.
