Designing Our Future Together
Dear Foxcroft School Community,
The beginning of a new school year brings an energy and excitement that cannot be matched. As our Foxcroft girls return to campus, they begin to design their future year in their minds: the courses they’ll take, the sports and activities they’ll choose, the things they want to achieve, upcoming changes and challenges they’ll have to navigate. I know as an alumna, as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, and as an educator, that Foxcroft helps each girl to design her future, and that it will only get bigger and better.
Foxcroft is building for our future. This year, we broke ground on the Mars STEAM Wing, and the Board of Trustees has been working to forecast and design the upcoming projects and budgets as part of the Building for Our Future campaign. We have also begun the search for our next Head of School, utilizing members of our community and Carney Sandoe & Associates to ensure we conduct an inclusive process and find an outstanding replacement for Cathy McGehee to continue her immeasurable work in service of Foxcroft.
Foxcroft School sits on 500 acres, but we are truly a nationwide, even global community. As we look forward, we want to expand our international presence and students, and ensure girls who want to attend Foxcroft can enroll and design their path forward. We also want to ensure that construction and expansion goes smoothly on our new additions and renovations, and that we continue to maintain and support our talented faculty and staff, who demonstrate daily compassion and vision for our students. Our girls deserve nothing less.
None of this would be possible without our community, and your support of The Foxcroft Circle, our endowment, the Building for Our Future campaign, Reunion, and Forever Foxcroft.
To our students, families, faculty, staff, alumnae, and community members, thank you. You continue to help us design our future and the future of our students, and this support is critical for ensuring Miss Charlotte’s work and vision continues to advance. We are grateful for your time, talents, and trust, and we celebrate each and every one of the wonderful moments with you here at Foxcroft School.
With gratitude,
Natalie James Wiltshire ’95 Chair, Board of Trustees
Dear Friends of Foxcroft,
2023–24 was a groundbreaking year, both literally and figuratively. In April, we held a ceremony for the new Mars STEAM Wing during Reunion and put a shovel in the ground to kick off Phase 2 of the Building for Our Future campaign. As I write to you, the construction fence is going up and the site work is underway with an anticipated building completion date of fall 2025.
Our annual theme, “Design yOUR Future,” not only celebrated Foxcroft’s Project STEAM-Build seminar, which follows the design phase of the Mars STEAM Wing and offers students the opportunity to learn about the first stages of the building process from the architects, engineers, and construction managers working with the School, it also helped our students think about planning for their own unique futures. Throughout the year, our girls met alumnae and outside speakers in design professions. They learned how to solve real-world problems in innovative courses such as 3D Design, Video Production, and Explorations in Engineering, and they planned a design for their own future education in our student-centered collegecounseling program. Outside of class, student leaders ratified a constitution for our Student Council, rode in our new outdoor riding ring designed by one of our own alumna, competed in conference and state athletic competitions, and started new clubs, all while enjoying beloved traditions such as Fox/Hound that bind us together across generations.
As alumnae, parents, employees, volunteers, and friends of Foxcroft, you helped make these opportunities possible for our students. I want to express my gratitude to each one of you, who gave to the School in so many ways.
Your gifts to The Foxcroft Circle, to the endowment, and to the Building for Our Future campaign keep us strong and help us to meet our goals. Throughout the school year, your generosity touches the lives of every person on campus as we work together to ensure outstanding teaching, engaging programs, the upkeep and renewal of our buildings and grounds, and most importantly, the success of our students in and outside of the classroom. Foxcroft could not do what we do without you.
I hope you will feel the pride and optimism I have each day I work with Foxcroft students and meet alumnae who are designers and architects of a strong community and a better world.

Celebrating Reunion Gifts
Reunion gifts bring alumnae together to honor their class and their unique Foxcroft experience.
Once again, our alumnae have shown their School spirit by challenging each other to reach ever-higher participation and giving goals!
We were thrilled to welcome all alumnae home to campus this spring, especially the milestone Classes of 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. Together, these alumnae made gifts totaling $140,225 to The Foxcroft Circle!
Thank you so much to all of the Class Representatives and Reunion Co-Chairs for their leadership and for encouraging philanthropic support of Foxcroft in honor of their Reunion. Their efforts helped us reach our 2023–24 goal for The Foxcroft Circle, and encouraged a wonderful turnout from our Foxcroft alumnae community! Let’s keep the momentum going together! In honor of their 50th Reunion, the Class of 1974 raised $183,739 for the Mars STEAM Wing.
Reunion Giving Awards recognize classes with the highest participation in The Foxcroft Circle or special class projects, and celebrate our alumnae’s dedication to Foxcroft. Congratulations and thank you to this year’s winners!

In Foxcroft’s 1946 Campus Master Plan, Miss Charlotte articulated her vision for the School, including the construction of Schoolhouse, an auditorium, laboratory, and individual music and art buildings, stating, “The buildings would supply adequate space and equipment to maintain Foxcroft’s high standard of scholarship.”
More than 75 years later, we are carrying on Miss Charlotte’s vision with our $65 million Building for Our Future campaign, which launched in April 2022. Divided into four phases, the campaign prioritizes renovating Schoolhouse and Music Building, as well as the construction of a STEAM Wing and Performing Arts Center.
Our new Mars STEAM Wing is underway, and the anticipation is building! With construction beginning, our efforts will now center around The Ruth T. Bedford 1932 Performing Arts Center. This space will provide a larger, highly flexible space for FoxHound Auditorium, and support our performing arts with a costume and scene shop and a new gallery space for visual art exhibits.
This fiscal year, we raised toward the campaign, bringing our total to
$801,258 $31,211,965.
Restricted Gifts
Restricted gifts to the School can be designated to fund special projects or supplement operating and capital budgets. This year, gifts were received for academic programming, faculty professional development, student support, and capital improvement projects.
SOME NOTEWORTHY INITIATIVES INCLUDE:
THE PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION’S annual Silent Auction and Raffle grossed more than $18,000, which was allocated to The Foxcroft Circle, Wintermission, student enrichment, faculty and staff appreciation, and family engagement.
BRETT AND LESTER LEVY generously provided funding for faculty professional learning centered on wellness initiatives. This funding provided day-long training to combat burnout, as well as one-onone coaching with the facilitator for some of our faculty.
A generous, budget-relieving grant from THE HARRISON FOUNDATION for deferred maintenance has helped support the necessary upkeep of Foxcroft’s 500 acres and 51 buildings.
Gifts in support of FINANCIAL AID and INCIDENTALS FOR STUDENTS IN NEED enabled the School to provide muchneeded support to deserving students who might not otherwise be able to afford a Foxcroft education.
The STEPHEN AND MARY BIRCH FOUNDATION generously provided funding to support additional 3D printing and STEM programs at Foxcroft.
Gifts from several current families supported the rebuilding of the outdoor riding ring on Big Track. The new OUTDOOR RIDING RING incorporates eco-friendly arena footing developed by Alex Carr ’12, and is an updated space for our Foxcroft girls and their horses to enjoy every day.
Endowment Gifts
Gifts to Foxcroft’s endowment are an essential part of the School’s financial foundation. Each gift is invested and the earnings are used to support all aspects of the School, including academic programs, faculty development, financial aid, and plant maintenance. Endowment earnings account for 36% of our annual operating budget.

Forever Foxcroft
Established in 1999 by the Board of Trustees, Forever Foxcroft is the giving society that recognizes individuals who have included Foxcroft in their estate plans. Whether a bequest, trust, annuity, pooled income, or property interests, planned gifts provide for the future needs of the School.
Through these legacy gifts, members of Forever Foxcroft balance their financial goals and charitable interests while ensuring that Foxcroft continues to attract and retain inspiring teachers, financial aid will be available to prospective students, and the buildings and grounds will be cared for and upgraded as needed into the future.
We are exceedingly grateful to the alumnae, parents, and friends of Foxcroft who have taken the lead to ensure that Foxcroft continues to thrive.
We have published the names of individuals who have permitted us to do so. If you have included Foxcroft in your long-term financial planning, please share that information with us by contacting the Office of Institutional Advancement at advancement@foxcroft.org or 540.687.4510.
