Grants We’ve Funded St. Joe’s: CHAMP Program Community, Health, Activity, Motivation, Prevention is where the acronym CHAMP comes from. It provides their clients with a complete nutritious and convenient meal. A recipe is included and all the necessary ingredients needed to prepare for the recipe including herbs and spices are enclosed. Meals are delivered once a month, and include a different fresh produce item. Riverview Gardens: Earn-A-Bike Program Employees that are receiving on the job training seem to lack reliable transportation. Public transportation is limited and many of the jobs are second and third shift. Self-identified workers who need a bicycle attend one of their weekly orientations and volunteer for 15 hours in exchange for a bike and safety gear. Once a bike is earned, it can be brought back to the EAB shop for free repairs and tune-ups. It allows the employees dignity and independence. Building for Kids: Music Makers Free Day This initiative shares the view that the arts are a critical part of learning opportunities that play an important role in enhancing all community member’s quality of life. Children who learn early through creative imaginative play have a stronger sense of social bonds and a desire to give back to the community they live in. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin: Mobile Pantries Their Mobile Pantries help nearly 700,000 people who do not know where their next meal is coming from. They serve Eastern Wisconsin by bringing well balanced, healthy food to their communities. Many communities emergency food systems (e.g. food programs, food pantries) do not provide enough food to serve those who rely on access to free food. The Mobile Pantries bridge those gaps. You can find them in schools, community centers and around the communities where truckloads of food are brought to a needed area. This is all done discreetly and respectfully.
