2015–2016 SEASON First Presbyterian Church of Tyler | Concert Series October 2015 through May 2016
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” —Victor Hugo 2 | Call 903.597.6317
Welcome A New Season, with Deep Roots Music connects us to our traditions, telling our collective story in a language that extends beyond narrative, lending texture and voice to our diverse histories. Through Fine Arts @ First Presbyterian Church’s commitment to fine music-making, we invite the community to connect with these traditions. This season, we welcome world-renowned artists and local favorites to share the music that has shaped us—concertos from European masters, marching tunes from the Scottish highlands, improvisational gold from the jazz greats. And most fittingly, the season finale will feature repertoire from an East Texas delegation of choristers on their way to a summer of choral residencies at some of the most venerated cathedrals in the United Kingdom. From sacred masterpieces to holiday favorites, there’s something for everyone this season. Join us in celebrating our musical roots.
