Fracking in Lancashire

This Is What Rural Fylde Will Look Like Soon Posted on: September 5th, 2012 by admin No Comments The photographs below show the drilling rig on Anna’s Road on 4 September 2012. The rig was transported from Chesterfield last week and is being erected to enable Cuadrilla to begin horizontal drilling very shortly. It’s a mess. How will our Moss roads cope with the hundreds of lorries that will be servicing the site on a daily basis; and what about the caravan parks close by – would you want to camp next to this, especially when it starts flaring and spewing out pollutants, which will happen very soon?

The rig can now be seen from Queensway and other other roads; just wait until the well is flared and is lighting the night skies. Over 800 wells are planned for the Fylde alone. Multiply the scene pictured here and imagine the future.
