Having started their cooperative involvement with the former West Essex Farmers, the family now source a wide range of inputs through Fram Farmers. As if celebrating their 50th anniversary as a farming family at Wicks Manor in Essex wasn’t enough, in January 2018 Howie & Sons LLP were nominated for the Sourced Locally Producer of the Year Awards, a celebration of local farmers, growers and producers from across Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. Year, a real achievement because these awards are voted for by the retailer’s customers. During 2018 the family also collaborated with the East of England Co-op on ‘The Great Sausage Mash Up’, giving sausage fans the chance to create a unique new pork sausage flavour.
