I am a young Italian architect but I am really a citizen of the world. I love travelling, photographing and getting in touch with people. My name is Francesca Lauretta, I am 25 years old and I graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. I am an eclectic woman and an immoderate passion for architecture characterizes my personality. I have studied at Politecnico di Milano that has given me a great ability of abstraction and determination in studying. I love searching for solutions to problems in architectural environment or in developing details. In 2016 I attended the Universitat Politècnica de València in Valcencia (Spain) and there I allowed the development of a problematic and somewhat technical professional approach linked to a material and constructive knowledge. Moreover, I have lived in South America and I have learned at Universidad Central de Chile, in Santiago de Chile. There I have opened my eyes to the human and social dimension of architecture. I have had many experiences abroad and I have developed remarkable adaptability to different social and work environments. I have a great attitude for teamwork and skills for planning and organizing activities. Over time I have increasingly appreciated an integrated vision of ecological, social and identity architecture. The important encounters and experiences of my life have guaranteed organicity and coherence to my professional career and they have favoured stimuli and architectural hypotheses built on human being and his identity.

ARCOIRIS
Arcoiris was born in the heart of Santiago, in Yungay, as a centre of aggregation for the citizens. Its presence is a tribute to the tragedy consumed in the region, to the violence inflicted by men over other men. It aims to seek and restore justice and not forget but recognize the blows inflicted on the individual and the community, to teach the children the search for the truth. The profound essence of Arcoiris is its love of life, an appeal to joy, that joy that is still struggling to make its strength felt. Arcoiris is a democratic complex born for the community. It is a different variation of an agora conceived and built around man, a citizen aware of the world. It is a large hug to the neighbourhood, to its inhabitants, each with their own diversity and dreams. Inside, large spaces or discreet corners offer different possibilities of use. The halls, open spaces or green areas are varied but always intercommunicating and strongly socializing. The building refers to the Museo de la Memoria y de los Derechos Humanos and is located within the same lot along Avenida Matucana. The museum structure, created in 2010 by the Studio America team, already appears to be an important presence within the design area both from a cultural and architectural point of view. The idea of Arcoiris ​​ is therefore to follow the museum without clashing with it but embracing it without diverting attention from the focus and mission of the main structure. The intervention therefore aims to search for an architectural and programmatic balance with the building, an action carried out in the deepest respect for the sacredness of the place, consistent with its purposes. A timeless proposal that does not intend to neglect the testimonies and stories contained herein but encourages us to look and understand why awareness arises only from knowledge, because it is the history of our days and must not be forgotten.

Target Renovating a limited area in Bovisa, the so-called drop, by incorporating university buildings, residences, dining areas and green areas. Project description This project is located in Bovisa, a district in Milan. Here there is another university location of the Politecnico di Milano. The project area is very wide and it extends from the railway station of Villapizzone to the area of the two gasometers (landmark of the whole project area). For the external renovation of the area, we are considering five buildings, the two gasometers and the east-facing square in the masterplan. The first building is a residential tower that can be used both by students and families with the intent to promote an interaction between university and the outer world. The tower has three basements with parking lots that recall the former gasometer with a system of ramps. The gasometer is visible from a downward spiral built outside the tower. The residences are on the central floors, while on the top floor there is a restaurant. The second building is the welcome area for people coming from the park that head to the campus. It has an auditorium in the basement and a large open space on the hanging floor which has free access and offers a variety of facilities to the customers. Besides there are three more university buildings; the main building consisting of three structures joined together by two transversal suspended walkways. Here there should be study classrooms and some university services. Finally there are the two gasometers. The first is designed as an outdoor theatre and it consists in two concentric and continuous ramps that allow uninterrupted trails, sloping in order to facilitate sessions of events, whereas the second gasometer should be a botanical garden.

JUMPING WALKWAY
Target Renoving a section of the EXPO area in ​​Milan by creating a connection with the new university campus and designing a specific underground station. Project description The project concerns the EXPO area located in the northwestern district of Milan. The area to be renoved has the shape of a triangle closed along the sides by a railroad, a highway and an elevated highway. Because of the level of challenges of the site and the need to design a more attractive centre for the city, after examining the existing laws about this subject, it was decided to build a motocross track. In this way also the surrounding abandoned areas can be renovated, when realizing complementary services to the track. The site is crossed by a raised passage that facilitates the route from the new underground station to the new university campus. This structure incorporates another structure with a spalto function on the track for the viewers of the competitions and paddocks in its final part. Two arches show the entrance to the underground station. The station building is made up by two parallelepipeds, glazed or open on the four sides, side by side with the last part of the walkway. These are supported by stairs leading to the tracks. Along the walkway there should be three more fully glazed structures with a view of the race track, the Alps and Milan. The walkway structure is designed with two single trusses in order to facilitate the positioning of adequate lights and the use of few pillars.

Target Redevelop an old theatre located within a lot with different functions. Improve the quality of the site and create a replicable example in other locations of the city. Project description The project area is located within a closed lot, in the southern area of the Comuna Santiago. The area consists mainly of an old theatre that can be accessed only through the school located nearby. The functions available inside the single lot vary. Initially, in 1930, it was a parish complex where the monks had already built a monastery and a church, a school for the kids in the neighbourhood and residences for teachers. To date the use of the lot has undergone few variations, however, users and needs have changed today. The theatre is part of the educational complex of the school but it has been abandoned for several years and it is not preserved. After an analysis of the area it is intended to create a common space for all the ethnic, economic and cultural diversities of the neighbourhood; a flexible space for the needs of different users (children, students, workers and elders); a space that stimulates creativity as much as possible. A small point of aggregation as it has always been, a space that can be replicated in other areas of the neighbourhood in the future and that can allow different cultural activities. . My architectural intervention is minimal. The idea is always to preserve as much as possible by strengthening the existing structural elements with almost imperceptible but effective measures and, where possible, reusing the existing materials giving them new value. Two uninhabited houses on the ground floor have been used for the entrance to the theatre from Calle Carmen.

Target Developing a project between utopia and plausibility to tackle problems related to water access in Chile. Project description The hydrical network en Chile is owned by private enterprises, and the access to water is not free. For this reason many people do not have water, or cannot have it or is found itself in a situation where cannot access to it. In some cases, the public use, in terms of public water features, is limited or do not exist. ROBIN TUB steals from the rich and gives to the poor: catches water form the network and redistributes it to the whole, making it a public good. Sucking water form hydrants, it inlets in a public alternative network which is free, public, visible and far from market rules. Water will be shared by all, being much more than a liquid: it will have a shape capable of creating community. New functions, related to water, will plug in to this pipes network. Water will become the main actor on the urban stage, outpouring in showers, fountains, taps, tubs, refreshing clouds and in many more facilities. Water becomes an urban re-generating tool. ROBIN TUB is not a project but an ever-reproposable system where the only background needed is a community ready to take charge of the change in the quality of open spaces in their neighborhood.
