Definition of traditional programs on the stage Intangible cultural heritage should be considered as a progressive process of which the main characteristics are creative activities based on tradition. From this point on, in order to define programs presented by ensembles of traditional expression, it is necessary to specify at the same time contents and style of expression.

festivals of traditional culture, CIOFFÂŽ wishes to define the styles of expression through song, music and dance as outlined below: A program will be considered as representing authentic expression: if the content is regional if the costumes are authentic or faithfully reconstructed if music and dance are presented without arrangement A program will be considered as representing elaborated expression: if the content covers a number of regions if the elements of costumes are adapted if the music is harmonized and the elements of dance modified if the creation of new dances uses traditional and authentic elements. A program will be considered as representing stylized expression: if the content draws its inspiration from the traditional culture of its country if the costumes are re-created for the needs of the stage if the music and the elements of dance are adapted and re-created to meet the needs of a modern scenic transposition if the creation of new dances and music uses traditional elements to represent the creative ideas of the choreographer and the musician.

Definición de programas tradicionales en escena El Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial debe considerarse como un proceso progresivo, que posee entre sus elementos más importantes, las actividades creativas basadas en la tradición. Por tanto, para definir los programas realizados por los cuerpos de bailes tradicionales, es necesario especificar al mismo tiempo contenidos y estilos de expresión. De conformidad con la definición de la Convención de la UNESCO para la Salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, un programa será considerado de cultura tradicional si su contenido proviene o es inspirado por un patrimonio cultural inmaterial: Transmitido de generación en generación Constantemente recreado por comunidades y grupos motivados por su entorno, su interacción con la naturaleza y su historia Proporcionándoles un sentido de identidad y continuidad Que promueva el respeto por la diversidad cultural y la creatividad humana En aras de servir a la causa de la cultura tradicional, los cuerpos de baile elijen un estilo y una forma de expresión. 2020: 50 th Anniversary of CIOFF® - 75 th Anniversary of UNESCO In the year 2020 we are celebrating 2 very important anniversaries: 75 years ago, the UN agency UNESCO was created to promote education, science and culture as key elements for development, prosperity, mutual understanding, tolerance and peace in the whole world. Today 193 states are participating in implementing many different Conventions in their governments and also involving social society – NGOs. 50 years ago, CIOFF® was born in Confolens (France) by Henri Coursaget as an NGO to provide a network for international folklore festivals and promote traditional art all over the world. CIOFF® developed through many Congresses, Forums, Cultural Conferences, Folkloriadas and many other cultural events to the NGO with a very visible aim to safeguard, promote and present all forms of Intangible Cultural Heritage. In 2003 UNESCO voted a new Convention for Safeguarding and promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage - CIOFF® recognized the role of NGOs in this Convention and its own role in the implementation of above-mentioned Convention on international, national and local level. After having obtained the official partnership with UNESCO and accreditation to provide services to the UNESCO ICH Committee CIOFF® adopted a new Strategy and Cultural Policy to incorporate and serve better the UNESCO aims in CIOFF® work. We realised that CIOFF® international festivals are representing the worldwide contribution to saveguard living traditions and together with other cultural activities CIOFF® is a real partner of promoting most important UNESCO aims – building peace in the world of today and tomorrow. The Organization of the CIOFF® Flagship event – CIOFF® International Festival in UNESCO headquarter every year is also one important event done together.

This is the reason why the two Anniversaries can be celebrated together with a lot of best wishes for CIOFF® and UNESCO for a better cooperation in the future! Jahrestag der UNESCO Im Jahr 2020 feiern wir 2 sehr wichtige Jubiläen: Vor 75 Jahren wurde die UNO-Sonderorganisation UNESCO gegründet, um Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur als Schlüsselelemente für Entwicklung, Wohlstand, gegenseitiges Verständnis, Toleranz und Frieden in der ganzen Welt zu fördern. Heute beteiligen sich 193 Staaten an der Umsetzung vieler verschiedener Konventionen in ihren Regierungen und beziehen auch die soziale Gesellschaft - NGOs - mit ein. Vor 50 Jahren wurde der CIOFF® in Confolens (Frankreich) von Henri Coursaget als NGO gegründet, um ein Netzwerk für internationale Folklorefestivals zu schaffen und die traditionelle Kunst in der ganzen Welt zu fördern. CIOFF® entwickelte sich durch viele Kongresse, Foren, Kulturkonferenzen, Folkloriadas und viele andere kulturelle Veranstaltungen zu der NGO mit dem sehr sichtbaren Ziel, alle Formen des Immateriellen Kulturerbes zu schützen, zu fördern und zu präsentieren. Im Jahr 2003 stimmte die UNESCO für eine neue Konvention zum Schutz und zur Förderung des Immateriellen Kulturerbes - CIOFF® erkannte die Rolle der NGOs in dieser Konvention und seine eigene Rolle bei der Umsetzung der oben genannten Konvention auf internationaler, nationaler und lokaler Ebene an. Nachdem CIOFF® die offizielle Partnerschaft mit der UNESCO und die Akkreditierung zur Erbringung von Akkreditierung zur Beratung des UNESCO ICHKomitees erhalten hatte, nahm es eine neue Strategie und Kulturpolitik an, um die Ziele der UNESCO in die Arbeit des CIOFF® einzubeziehen und ihnen besser zu dienen. Wir haben erkannt, dass die internationalen CIOFF® Festivals den weltweiten Beitrag zur Bewahrung lebendiger Traditionen darstellen und dass CIOFF® zusammen mit anderen kulturellen Aktivitäten ein echter Partner bei der Förderung der wichtigsten Ziele der UNESCO ist - der Schaffung von Frieden in der Welt von heute und morgen. Die Organisation des CIOFF®-Flaggschiffs Events - das Internationale CIOFF®Festival im UNESCO-Hauptquartier - ist ebenfalls eine wichtige gemeinsame Veranstaltung. Aus diesem Grund können die beiden Jubiläen gemeinsam gefeiert werden, mit vielen guten Wünschen für CIOFF® und UNESCO für eine bessere Zusammenarbeit in der Zukunft! July, 18 – August, 1, 2020 VI CIOFF® World Folkloriada 2020 will be held in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. Bashkortostan is one of the leading regions with a great experience in conducting different kinds of international events – festivals, forums, conferences, etc. The days of Folkloriada 2020 are appointed as follows: July, 16-17 – arrival of participants July, 18 – Opening Ceremony July, 19 – Parade of participants July, 20–29 – Festival Program July, 30 – a free day, excursions, etc. July, 31 – Parade of participants August, 1 – Closing Ceremony August, 2 – departure of participants

The Festival will cover the whole territory of the Republic. The program of Folkloriada 2020 will consist of number of colorful activities: concerts, parades, forums, playing traditional folk games, workshops, making and trying different tasty cuisines, exhibitions of handicrafts, excursions and so on. th During the 48 CIOFFÂŽ World Congress and General Assembly which was held in Ufa there were meetings of EXCO members and officials of the Republic concerning the questions of accommodation, transportation, medical care, catering, security, the officials also discussed possible venues for the opening and closing ceremonies of Folkloriada.
