Guest House Seggiano, Italy Autumn 2009 Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio Prof. Valentin Bearth
The project is located in the Garden of tha artist Daniel Spoerri in Seggiano, Tuscany. The program is to propose a guest house of fifty square meters in size. The design of the new architectural object explores the themes nature/ artifice and its formal configuration and figurative want to stand out in relation to the works that the artist has installed in the Garden. The house is structured in three sections which extend through the chestnuts trees that characterize the area of the Garden. The same blocks are projected in three different directions and are supported by slender pillars of metal. The more pronunced part tends toward the middle of the park and towards the leaves of the biggest chestnut tree. Each part has a large opening at its end in an attempt to highlight different views of the Garden. The structure of the house is in wood and the coating material is galvanized steel.

Waterfront Napoli, Italy Autumn 2011 Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio Prof. Francesco Venezia
The aim of the project is to re-evaluate the waterfront of the city of Naples, along the new Via Marina. Its starts with a masterplan, which aims to remove the existing buildings along the coast road and rebuild with new architectures and public spaces. The new design is characterized by a complex functional program, by common elements that link the various building with a system of porches. The configuration of the porches is marked by septa perpendicular to the main street as a threshold between the city and the sea. Together with the system of porches, the new structures follow a network of public paths and link to the various parts of the building complex. Inside this new architectural buildings there are various public spaces are multifunctional and include: auditoriums, multipurpose classrooms and libraries. The complex defines a square that is related to the Church of St. Nicholas and the spaces adjacent to it.

Low Rise HIgh DenSity Z端rich, Switzerland Spring 2012 Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio Prof. Jonathan Sergison
The project is located in the heart of the Zurich city. The program involves the design of new residential buildings with high density urban development. Starting from the existing urban system, the project aims to redefine two blocks each with its own courtyard. Another significant aspect of the project is the organization of open spaces which, starting from the inside courtyards of the two new buildings, are determined in a sequence of private and public spaces. The organization of the flats has always developed over the entire depth of the volume of the building, always giving the possibility of a double facing. The design of the facades is punctuated by a strict geometric rhythm, which generates a system of lodges along the various floors, and at the groundfloor a long porch. The accommodation includes various typologies responding to the different housing needs.

Luogo di Meditazione Isola Mouchao do Lombo, Portugal Autumn 2012 Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio Prof. Francisco and Manuel Aires Mateus
The project site is located on the island Mouchao do Lombo in Tejo river, Lisbon. The project aims to design a place of meditation. Meditation is prompted by the observation of the foreign object and by the experience to discover the unexpected space inside. The object with the cubic shape is engaged in the territory with the intention of appropriating the island’s horizon and identify the surrounding coasts. The choice of red pigmented concrete, is meant to emphasize the artificiality of the object and capture the attention of the visitor. The different stairs are articulated within each wall of the cube, cross propose multiple paths that end at the roof top from where you can see the horizon. Going through the various routes, the visitor has the opportunity to discover introverted spaces excavated within the section of the cube. The central space of the volume is completely open air.

Winery tower Serravalle, Switzerland Spring 2014 Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio Graduation Project - Prof. Francisco and Manuel Aires Mateus
The project area is located between the junction of two rivers, Brenno and Blenio, in the municipality of Serravalle, Ticino. The project aims to re-evaluate the Blenio Valley acting as a point of reference for the wine production in the area. The decision to develop the winery in the vertical, as a winery tower, comes from the observation of the form of the valley, which is characterized by a strong dual aspect. In other words the two main characteristics are: a strong verticality of the surrounding mountains and horizontality of the plain. The winery tower fits into this landscape and imposes itself as a landmark. The vertical development of the cellar allows the gravity flow of the wine which ensures a better quality control. The production starts from top to bottom and wine process is different in each floor of the tower. The plans fit together with one another thanks to a space research focused on characterizing each production area. By having “light rooms it is possible to illuminate any space cascade in different ways giving the visitor glimpses of landscape and spatial perceptions which are always different. The structure is constituted by a double shell in concrete.

Guggenheim Competition Helsinki, Finland Summer 2014 Collaboration with Mellusoarchitettura & MC2
The project interprets the museum as a new intermodal centrality and proposes to add an APM (Automated People Mover) to the existing systems of the South Harbour. Thus the building establishes physical and spatial relationships conversing and connecting with the city center and the hill. The project articulates its compact core in Finnish granite and wood on five interconnected levels: the dock level with the Terminal and the entrance atrium of the museum, the bookshop level, the level for event areas, offices and the restaurant, the exhibition level, the covering level with the summer space and the roof restaurant. The museum is designed as a great sustainable machine and verified with respect to the LEED gold certification where spaces and facilities of the museum were redesigned for energy efficiency as in the case of the large skylight which becomes a solar greenhouse.

Concierge House Competition Bologna, Italy Autumn 2014
The aim of the competition is to design a Concierge House in the Villa’s Belpoggio Baciocchi garden, in Bologna. The project idea evolved from the unique characteristics of the surrounding: thick masts, a slight slope of the side building and the connection with the Villa’s monumentality. The Concierge House is articulated with different volumes. This structure follows the site landscape, different heights of the area and the trees around of the site. The functions of the house are distributed on three levels and the design of the windows are always thought to be distinctive for each room. The main entrance and garden’s storage are located in the first floor; in second floor, is the double height living room and a loggia; and in the last floor, the sleeping area that faces on to the living room. The house is made by brick covered in plaster.
