FRILUFTSHUSET AT THE ORRESTRANDA BEACH. Orre Recreation Centre, one of the most popular 1
attractions operated by Jæren Outdoor Recreation Board, has developed into a regional cultural centre hosting art exhibitions, concerts and a variety of other events. The building also houses an exhibition on the plant and animal life along the beaches of Jæren. Architect: Per Line.
ORRESTRANDA BEACH The Orre beach is Norway’s longest sandy beach (2 km long). Throughout the beaches there are areas with sand dunes and very interesting flora and fauna. The main activity is hiking, and when the conditions are good you can experience great conditions for swimming. 2
KVASSHEIM LIGHTHOUSE was taken over by Jæren Outdoor Recreation Board after manual operation was replaced by automation. The exterior of the lighthouse has been restored and the interior rebuilt to accommodate a café, a meeting room and a room with a view. Kvassheim lighthouse also houses a nature information centre and an exhibition about shipwrecks and marine rescue services along the coast of Jæren. Architect: Helge Schelderup Sivilarkitekter AS.
