Henri Dunant lived between 1828 and 1910. Early in his life, Dunant learned that a good Christian had to be committed to charitable activities. Henri Dunant worked as a representative of YMCA, a global organization that empowers young people to find and share their voice on the issues that matter to them and to the world. In the battle of Solferino, Italy in 1859, Henri Dunant organized emergency aid services for injured people. He helped anyone who needed help. Later, Dunant proposed the creation, in all countries, of voluntary relief societies for the prevention and alleviation of suffering in war and peacetime - without distinction of race or faith. Henri Dunant received the Peace Nobel Prize in 1901.
