INSPIRATION FOR DESIGN From one generation to the next - Franke Celebrates 100+ Years with the Centennial Sink When you think about a ‘Traditional’ Kitchen you are envisioning what still remains the most popular design in the US today. Each detail is a tribute to traditions and treasures passed down from one generation to the next. This kitchen displays a sense of history and exudes luxurious elegance; which can only be mastered with experience and attention to detail. Traditional kitchens remain desirable because they are stately, comfortable, familiar and work for every demographic. The Centennial sink brings graceful shapes and fixtures with a curvaceous contour; a traditional design that is functional and creates an inviting atmosphere. The Franke Centennial sink is all of this and more...Just as traditional design is defined: the edges are soft, smooth and blend into the whole. Elegant side curves taper in allowing the large part of the bowl to face the user. The Centennial is the very first Franke sink that was conceptually designed from beginning to end in the United States, yet still manufactured in Aarburg, Switzerland. The purpose was to capture the essence of the US home owner. In celebrating 100+ years, it is only fitting that we commemorate the classic ‘D-bowl’, with a redefinition of this traditionally styled bowl. The updated version of this traditional sink brings classic lines and architecture coupled with the undeniable luxury, functionality and quality that people have come to expect from Franke. The designers who created this sink searched for inspiration far and wide for items approrpriate for today’s luxury consumers. They looked for products that incorporate integrity and proportion of historic design with a wealth of imagination.

TESTIMONIALS WHY FRANKE CENTENNIAL SINKS? See what the professionals are saying . . . For my apartment renovation, I chose Franke's CQX11019 sink. The 19" bowl fits perfectly in my compact Brooklyn kitchen and the stainless steel finish matches my appliances and the industrial feel of my loft apartment. This sink is very versatile and is something I would also specify for a traditional home in the country. It could work in a small kitchen or as a second sink or bar sink in a larger home and I think its unique shape would work very well in a counter that is angled at 45 degrees from the rest of the kitchen. And with Franke, I can always be confident that I'm giving my clients a high quality product. David Neff, Architect | Neff Architecture 300 Graham Ave #2L | Brooklyn, NY 11211 neffarchitecture.com | david@neffarchitecture.com 917 647-2039 We chose the centennial sink for our display because of its unique shape. I personally like the front to back depth of 20 ½”. It’s one of the deepest, if not the deepest sinks on the market, which opens the options of what the sink can be used for. We like how it complements our display as well. We only spec and sell high end products, which is why we only use Franke sinks for our kitchen projects. Randall L. Shaw, President | Nordic Kitchens & Baths Inc. 1818 Veterans Blvd. | Metairie, LA 70005 rlshaw@nordickitchens.com | nordickitchens.com 504.888.2300 Traditional style and decor resonates with the U.S. market. It offers a sense of rich details, elegant lines and graceful curves that is not typically found with contemporary styles. We saw an opportunity to design a sink that echoes the same elegance found on kitchen cabinets, hardware, faucets, serving platters, etc. Taking the sink a step beyond functionality, the Centennial offers an aesthetic style that complements the carefully curated traditionally designed kitchen. CUSTOM ACCeSSORieS Franke’s centennial sinks offer custom accessories that are highly functional and space efficient; packing a great deal of utility into a relatively small space. How you use your sink is an important consideration. Purchasing the custom accessories for your Centennial sink will help keep your kitchen and prep area clean and organized, adding to the enjoyment of the food preparation. The top grid adds ease of food preparation and ergonomically raises your work area up to take the strain off of your lower back when lifting heavy items. The grids also work well to help air dry your fine crystal, silverware or even thaw meats for preparation. Bottom sink grids ensure that you get to showcase the beauty of your new Franke sink for years to come. Such grids will prevent scratches from marking up the bottom of your sink.

CUSTOM ACCeSSORieS (continued) The

bottom

grid

also

provides

elevation above the bottom of the sink. We understand that you are cooking with costly and substantial cookware, often times equating to heavier weights. Franke grids are engineered to withstand 40lbs of pressure at any point without moving or bending. Additionally they are specifically made of heavy commercial grade gauge to accommodate such needs. While sink accessories are rarely taken into account during a remodeling project, Franke’s iroko wood cutting boards have been referred to as “jewelry for the sink”, aside from their

fundamental

purpose.

The

Centennial cutting boards offer a great symmetrical feature – using two cutting boards, you virtually create additional counterspace and those unwashed dishes disappear! For more information on the Franke Centennial
