A small book about my sculptures, and thoughts about sculpture being. Iron is my primary material, but all materials where it is possible to work as directly as possible, and to express oneself artistically, as paperclay Fiber Concrete, aluminum, wood, and plastic, are good materials.
In my sculptures in iron, I use iron’s unique properties, of so to speak "modeling sculpture in the empty space" where it will be forming floating in the process of cutting, shaping, hammering and welding. This is a very direct and vivid process because of iron strength, and opens up for a very rich and dynamic expression. I often leave the sculptures to be open, , as an calligraphic form, with only the required shape and movement to express the image most strongly.

-In the previous sculptures, I have primarily worked in thin (1mm) iron plates that you can shape with warm & hammering - which gives an expression that is very free, vibrant and dynamic. You can see how in the way of the hammer.
the following sculptures are thick plates (4 mm), where you get a more tightly expressionm, but simultaneously also much extra of iron’s own dramatic strength and opportunity, working with a dynamism and movement in the surface. In "Portrait of a Iron Tycoon" you can see how.
