Greetings, Franklin College alumni and friends!
It is no secret that the landscape in higher education for small, private institutions has never been more challenging and competitive. Yet, at Franklin College, our ability to adapt, innovate and respond to both market needs and student interests has created an incredible burst of momentum from all corners of the campus.
Our creative approach to student recruitment strategies, coupled with new academic program development and continued investment in our unique student experience, are yielding remarkable results. Franklin College has experienced a 19% increase in new student enrollment, representing one of the largest entering classes in recent college history. Here are some interesting details about the class:
• Cultural and geographic diversity are hallmarks of this class, with students hailing from 14 states and 13 foreign countries.
• Business, exercise science, biology and psychology are the most popular choices of prospective majors, while interest in mathematics and software engineering has surged dramatically.
• Beyond the classroom, students are interested in athletics, Greek life, and study-away experiences. Nearly 200 students intend to participate in one or more of the college’s NCAA Division III athletic programs.
• Legacy connections are strong, with 24 students following in the footsteps of their Franklin College alumni relatives.
In addition to our enrollment success, we have continued to set institutional records in fundraising. With total 2023-24 donations reaching $12,074,229, we far exceeded our goal of $6 million. I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our generous alumni and friends, whose philanthropy has a truly transformative student impact. This level of support allows us to offer exceptional educational opportunities and invaluable scholarships and financial aid, as well as the technological resources to equip students for the high-tech world they will embrace upon graduation.
At a time when many small colleges are experiencing severe stress, Franklin College is thriving. Together, we are securing a future filled with promise, potential and boundless opportunities. Thank you for being an indispensable part of our journey.
