Dear Valued Clients, As FranklinCovey enters its 20th year in Australia, we have emerged as a national leader in helping organisations build the capability of their workforce to become great leaders and execute on strategy. Our global presence extends to more than 147 countries and our network of accredited client facilitators currently exceeds 45,000 and expands daily. Our mission is to enable greatness in people and organisations everywhere. We have studied the topic of great performance at unprecedented levels. From our research, we believe great organisations have four distinct outcomes:

1. Sustained Superior Performance. Succeeding

financially, or operationally, in both the short and long term , and not just on an absolute basis, but relative to their market potential or the hand they’re dealt.

JOSHUA FARRELL We’ve identified 3 key areas that we can help in building great organisations. Becoming good is enough for many. Becoming great, and sustaining it, is a quest we are passionate about. We look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward greatness. Yours sincerely,

2. Intensely Loyal Customers. Earning not only the

“satisfaction” of their customers, but their true loyalty.

3. Highly Engaged and Loyal Employees. The people who work in great organisations are more than satisfied — they are energised and passionate about what they do and become true ambassadors for their businesses.

4. Distinctive Contribution. Doing more than “business as usual” . Fulfilling a unique mission that sets them apart from the crowd.

Today’s Challenges

FranklinCovey Solutions

The Leadership Challenge

Great Leaders

The world today needs great leaders who engage people’s heads and hearts, not just their hands. Most leaders still use Industrial Age management practices. Consider these challenges:

LEADERSHIP: Great Leaders, Great Teams, Great Results™

• Succession crisis. By 2018, 60% of experienced leaders will have left the work force. • Underused talent. Over 50% of workers say they have “far more talent, intelligence, and creativity” than their jobs allow them to use. • Weak management skills. The number-one reason people leave their jobs is because of a poor relationship with their manager.

Equip your leaders and managers with the mind-set, skill-set, and tool-set necessary to unleash the talent and capability of their teams to achieve your organisation’s highest priorities. Leaders will discover how to inspire trust and build credibility with their people, define a clear and compelling purpose, create and align systems of success and create a workplace where people want to stay and contribute their best effort, time and time again.

The Individual-Effectiveness Challenge

Effective Individuals

Jobs get cut. Resources are eliminated. But the work remains. Today’s employees are expected to put in more and more time just to maintain acceptable productivity. It’s more for less. Consider these challenges:

The 7 Habits® Signature Program

• Longer workdays. Workers spend three weeks longer working per year than 20 years ago. • Heavier work loads. 53% of workers say they are “overwhelmed” at work and, because of technology, are never really “off the job.” • Information overload on the average worker. 75 billion e-mail messages are sent each day.

Set the foundation for personal and professional effectiveness, increasing productivity, restoring balance, and developing greater maturity and responsibility.

FOCUS: Achieving Your Highest Priorities™ Help employees clarify, focus on, and execute their highest priorities based on the FranklinCovey Planning System. Includes the FOCUS pre and post self-assessment.

• The communication gap. When surveyed, only 6% of respondents state that team members discuss tough issues candidly, and only 32% believe their teams actively seek out differing viewpoints.

The Execution Challenge Execution remains the great unaddressed issue in organisations today. Consider these challenges: • Weak performance. On average, only 13% of public companies meet yearly financial expectations. • Failed strategies. 70% of strategic initiatives either fail or are abandoned. • Lack of alignment. Only 19% of workers say they can effectively translate the company’s top goals into the work they do.

Institutionalised Focus & Execution The 4 Disciplines of Execution®: Manager Accreditation Create a culture of execution through accrediting all of your managers in a process that equips them to become execution “experts.” The Accreditation process that teaches leaders and managers to identify and execute their highest priorities by focusing on “wildly important goals”, acting on lead measures, keeping a compelling scoreboard, and creating a cadence of accountability.

Leadership T

here is no single individual to have a more profound impact on the performance of a group of people, than their leader. Leadership trumps product issues, market conditions, economic conditions, team and organisational weaknesses. It is the single most important factor in improving organisational performance over time. In an unsettled world, in which our standard strategy playbooks do not seem to apply, leadership is the key lever that mobilises teams to produce results. This is not to excessively elevate the importance of the leader as an individual. Rather, the intent is to help leaders realise the value of their team and  the ability for that team to accomplish anything, lies in the team members themselves and that as their leader, It is his or her duty to discover and unleash that talent.

The 4 Imperatives of Great Leaders

The 4 Chronic Issues

Leaders who live by these 4 Imperatives overcome the chronic problems of Industrial Age leadership and engage the full talent of the people they lead.

The transition from the Industrial Age to the Knowledge Worker Age has resulted in four chronic problems faced by today’s leaders. These include:

Inspire Trust to build credibility as a leader so that people will trust you with their highest efforts.

1. Low Trust.

Weak management skills. The number-one reason people leave their jobs is because of a poor relationship with their manager.

Clarify Purpose to define a clear and compelling purpose

that causes people to want to offer their best to achieve the organisational goals.

Align Systems to create systems of success that support the purpose and goals of the organisation, enable people to do their best work, operate independently of you, and sustain superior performance over time. Unleash Talent to develop a winning team, where

people’s unique talents are leveraged against clear performance expectations in a way that encourages responsibility and growth.

2. No Clear Purpose or Vision.

Strategic uncertainty. Only 43% of workers surveyed said that their organisation clearly communicated its most important goals to employees

3. Bureaucratic Misaligned Systems.

16% of workers agree that their teams plan how to achieve their goals together.

4. Underutilised Talent and Potential.

Over 50% of workers say they have “far more talent, intelligence, and creativity” than their jobs allow them to use.

CLARIFY PURPOSE

INSPIRE TRUST UNLEASH TALENT

ALIGN SYSTEMS

We invite you to step up to developing the most important asset of a business , its people  with the most important lever to help them, its leaders.

This latest development to the FranklinCovey resource pool is state of the art, simple and so effective that if used correctly guarantees great long term results. The accountability tracker is an online resource that reinforces the 12 month Leadership contract. Each participant will be required to complete activities weekly in the resource in an effort to become accountable for their development. An organisational or team “champion”, usually the manager that took part in the “buy-in” phase will have access to the results of activities to track the progress of their staff.

Follow up workshop to Leadership: Great Leaders, Great Teams, Great Results

Duration: 1 or 2 days If you want to be competitive, whether in a large company or a business owner. Learning the skills associated with greater trust should be a top priority.

Trust Speeds Up Everything Trust has always been thought of as a soft issue, this could not be further from the truth.Trustrelated problems like redundancy, bureaucracy, fraud, and turnover put the skids on productivity, divert resources, squander opportunities, and chip away at a company’s brand.Trust is believed to be innate; you’re either trustworthy or you’re not. Unfortunately even those who are totally trusted can be viewed as “low trust” from time to time. Understanding the practical and behavioural side of trust, not only helps leaders build trust in their teams, but the team’s trustworthiness as a whole.

FranklinCovey’s Leading at the Speed of Trust leadership-development solution is designed to help leaders: • Choose to make building trust an explicit goal of their work. • Learn how others perceive their trustworthiness from their personal tQ™(Trust Quotient) Report. • Understand the real, measurable “Trust Taxes” they might be paying without realising it. • Change “Trust Taxes” to “Trust Dividends”, which are the benefits that come from growing relationships of trust. • Make action plans to build Trust Accounts with all key stakeholders. • Begin using the “Language of Trust” as an important cultural lever.

The mistrust of business leaders translates directly to investor reluctance, which then denies businesses access to the capital they need to grow, which then hurts their employees and the overall economy. It's a vicious cycle in which everyone loses.

The Trust Meter is like a car speedometer, and your tQ score is your current “speed" of trust. Red means you need to work urgently on increasing your tQ score; yellow means you have trust issues with some respondents; green means that respondents trust you, but you can always improve your “speed" of trust.

New language and understanding taught in the workshop are dictating outcomes to some of our biggest challenges, and resolving them in a new and innovative way, supporting us through some pretty difficult situations. Duration: 1 day All too often, people’s unseen agendas or personal motivations prevent others from trusting their word, and ultimately getting things done. In a lowtrust environment, workers become suspicious of each other and of the organisation. Guarded communication, speculation, and disengagement, slows productivity and frustration increases.

Everyone contributes to a high-trust organisation. Often results are hindered by a simple lack of trust among individuals. But when individuals trust each other and are trusted by others, communication improves and productivity accelerates as attention is redirected toward objectives instead of suspicion surrounding others’ intentions.

FranklinCovey’s Working at the Speed of Trust solution is designed to help : •

Increase personal credibility.

Exhibit behaviours that increase trust.

Increase trust with key stakeholders.

Create an environment of high trust that will increase creativity, innovation, and a greater commitment to achieving results.

Choose to make building trust an explicit goal of their work.

Learn how others perceive their trustworthiness from their personal tQ™ Report (optional).

Understand the real, measurable “Trust Taxes” they might be paying without realising it.

Change “Trust Taxes” to “Trust Dividends”, which are the benefits that come from growing relationships of trust.

Make action plans to build Trust Accounts with all key stakeholders.

Begin using the “Language of Trust” as an important cultural lever.

FranklinCovey’s Working at the Speed of Trust  teaches individual contributors to identify and address “trust gaps” in personal credibility and professional relationships. Using examples based on their current work and focusing on real-world issues, participants discover how to communicate transparently with peers and managers, improve their track record of keeping commitments, focus on improving internal customer service with others who depend on their work, and much more. Working at the Speed of Trust is a one day workshop that raises trust from an often-ignored asset or liability, to a strategic advantage in the marketplace. Doing business at the “Speed of Trust” dramatically lowers costs, speeds up results, and increases profits and influence. This highly interactive workshop engages participants to identify and close the trust gaps that exist in an organisation.

Duration: 1 day More often than not individuals’ top priorities are obscured by competing demands on their time and attention. Staying focused on the highest priorities in a busy and complex world is a challenging requirement. We cannot change the amount of time there is in a day. No matter how we juggle things around, there is still only twenty-four hours in a day. This gives us a limited amount of time to work on during the year - in fact, one might say that despite differing opportunities in life everyone has the exact amount of time, so the only thing we can do in our lives when it comes to time is altering the way we use it. There are four steps taught throughout the 1 day workshop to enable you to focus your time on what you value most and what you want to accomplish. These steps will help you establish an enduring, values-based foundation for everything you do. 1. Identify Values 2. Set Goals 3. Plan Weekly 4. Plan Daily

Participants will learn to: • Develop a reliable planning system that focuses on value-aligned time management and integrates various productivity tools. • Apply a planning process that achieves better results based on execution and priorities. • Reduce stress by recognising and eliminating distractions, low-priority activities, and competing demands on your time. • Achieve balance and renewal, avoiding burnout and frustration.

FranklinCovey’s FOCUS: Achieving Your Highest Priorities solution presents powerful principles that help participants identify and clarify their values, set goals, plan weekly and daily, in order to accomplish what counts.

FOCUS: Achieving Your Highest Priorities is an engaging, one-day program that teaches employees how to clarify, focus on, and execute their highest priorities. Participants master the skills of planning their weeks and organising their days so their time is spent on tasks that really matter. They discover how to clearly define goals and break them down into key tasks, eliminate unnecessary activities to reduce stress, balance work and life priorities, and master information management with a proven planning system.

Helping Clients Succeed Sales, Business Development & Consulting Process Training Sales and Business Development Consulting and Training Helping Clients Succeed (HCS) is a methodology that blends the art and science of sales integrating communication and relationship building skills with disciplined business thinking and execution process. methodology, integrating communication skills with disciplined business thinking and execution process. Eliminating the dysfunctions in the selling/ buying process and getting buyers on the same side of the table to: get real, talk honestly, explore issues, collaborate and craft solutions that exactly meet the client’s needs. The end result is radical success for you and your client.

The art of sales focuses on the people skills that create authentic dialogue and language for building high-trust relationships. The science of sales focuses on a repeatable, consistent process for initiating, qualifying, winning and growing business. HCS is a mind-set, skill-set, tool-set and

HCS not only delivers concepts that give a strong theoretical foundation for business development and consulting, it also provides the critical thinking (IQ) and communication skills (EQ) required for real life. The program is sophisticated while remaining simple. It provides the strategies and skills for delivering high sales performance, without sacrificing the realities of solid business thinking and the need to build capacity for long and short term success.

To continue doing the same thing and expect different results is the definition of insanity. However, for sales people who are taught traditional selling methods, just revamped over time, it can be difficult to change embedded behaviours. The HCS approach requires a sales person to have a complete paradigm shift.

HCS connects people to their personal motivation to change. The delivery of the HCS program is flexible, depending on the needs of the client. It varies from a 2-day workshop, to a 5-day solution. Whilst the implementation of the program differs we would typically include these elements in all options: •

Exploring the dysfunctional sales model - why selling doesn’t work.

Understanding our motivation to change.

Discussing the objectives for the HCS program, typically: •

Increased revenues.

Increased margins.

Increased client satisfaction.

Increased repeat business.

Increased new opportunities.

To reach these objectives, sales people need to create a solution that exactly meets the client’s needs. Anything less is likely to be of no value to the client, and therefore of no value to the sales person. The task can be approached in one of four ways: 1.

Tell the client what they need.

2.

Accept without question what they say they need.

3.

Guess at what the client needs.

4.

Apply our experience and intellect and ‘Mutually Explore’ to develop what they need. This is the basis for HCS.

Execution W

The 4 Disciplines of Execution Process

hen it comes to getting results as leaders, we have control over strategy and the execution of that strategy. The real challenge is in the execution.

1. Focus on the Wildly Important.

Everyone on the team is crystal clear about and committed to the few absolute top priorities that define success. The “Wildly Important Goal” (WIG) is the one that must be achieved, or nothing else you achieve matters.

This is true in every organisation for the same reason: the enormous amount of energy required to maintain the operation (your “day job” or what we call the “whirlwind”) suffocates the activities needed to execute on the strategy. The real challenge with execution is not simply executing on a goal, but rather executing on a goal in the midst of the whirlwind. The 4 Disciplines of Execution process, gives a leader, a team, or an entire organisation a set of guidelines and a simple methodology for executing on any strategy in the face of the chaos of the whirlwind.

2. Act on the Lead Measures.

The 4 Disciplines of Execution are implemented in a way that is unique from any other FranklinCovey offering. We accredit the leaders within your organisation to implement these disciplines within their own teams. This unique content and approach to adoption has lead to an extraordinary number of case studies and quantifiable client results.

3. Keep a Compelling Scoreboard.

Everyone knows and commits to a few “80/20” activities that will have the most impact; then they use “lead measures” to track those activities relentlessly.

Everyone knows the critical measures of success and, at every moment, if they are winning or not. A compelling scoreboard motivates people to win.

4. Create a Cadence of Accountability

Everyone accounts frequently and regularly for progress toward the goals. Every team engages in a simple weekly “WIG Session” to track successes, analyse failures, and course-correct as necessary.
