Press Release Georgia’s WIN List Endorses Diane Evans for State House 127 Avera, Georgia – Diane Evans is honored to have the endorsement and support of Georgia’s WIN List, the premiere state organization dedicated to electing strong and effective democratic women into positions of leadership. “WIN List is a wonderful organization and their support means a lot to our campaign,” said Evans. “Their tireless work in training and assisting women in politics continues to improve the lives of Georgians.”

The endorsement carries significant weight, as Georgia’s WIN List has an impressive history of electing women to the State Capitol.

Diane Evans is in a runoff election for State House in Jefferson and Richmond counties. She is a pastor and former educator that is running to bring jobs to her district, improve our public schools, and support and protect the rights of senior citizens.

The runoff election will be on Tuesday, December 3. ###


Diane Evans is a former City Clerk of Wadley, Georgia and a former Public Relations intern for the City of Wrens and worked as Administrative Assistant to Screven County’s government. She is a native of Screven County and has lived in Jefferson County for the past thirty years. She is minister, serving as a pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Sylvania, Georgia and moderator of the Fifth District of the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association. Diane Evans has an in-depth understanding of the needs of the citizens in the counties of District 127, which include South Richmond and North Jefferson. Diane Evans is an advocate for bringing jobs back to District 127, improving the successes of public schools, colleges and universities, supporting Active and Retired Military Personnel and their families, and providing more accessible support to our Senior Citizens. Diane Evans received her undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University, and her Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Erskine College. She completed further studies with the University of Georgia, University of Mississippi at Oxford, and Augusta State University. Before retiring in 2009, Diane Evans served as a Certified School Nutrition Director and classroom teacher for twenty-five years. Diane Evans holds professional membership with the Jefferson County Retired Educators; is a life-time member of the Jefferson County NAACP; is chair of the Jefferson County Democratic Party; is secretary of the Georgia Association of Democratic County Chairs; is DPG State Committee Member; was a DNC delegate to the 2012 National Convention; past matron of Paramount Chapter, 337, O.E.S.; a member of the Georgia & National School Nutrition Association; has been a volunteer instructor for C&E Water Swim Camp in the past for at-risk youth. Diane Evans is the parent of two young adults, J. Michael and Kelsey.
