So many options this March! Over the next two weeks, Frankston is set to educate, inspire, entertain and enlighten everyone who takes part in the explosion of community and international events scheduled! This weekend, we celebrate Latin American culture at the Ventana Fiesta, community spirit at Pines Pride Day and an Aussie tradition at the St Kilda Family Day - just to name a few! Then next weekend (Saturday, 24 and Sunday 25 March) Frankston is set to hit the international screens as the Asia-Pacific Ironman Championships comes to town. With activities throughout the City, including the Kananook Creek Celebration Day in Seaford, acoustic music in the City Centre and activation sites at the Frankston Waterfront and Airio Apartments Terrace in Thompson Street, there will be a buzz in the CIty like never before. School Holidays are nearly upon us, the Circus (Silvers) is coming to town, Easter Celebrations will start the season on the Frankston Waterfront, ACTIVATE Youth Week event, as well as the return of Children's Day and the introduction of the Mad Hatters Tea Party. Ventana Festival - This Saturday!
Now in its sixth year the Ventana Fiesta promises another colourful burst of Latin American, Portuguese and Spanish cultures. Saints Family Day 2012 Sunday, 18 March 2012 1:00pm – 4:00pm Frankston Park, cnr High and Young Streets, Frankston FREE EVENT St Kilda Football Club invites the Saints Family to Frankston in March! Discovery Day at Cruden Farm
Sunday, 18 March 2012 10:00 - 3:00pm Cruden Farm, Langwarrin (enter from Cranhaven Rd) Cost: $45 per adult pre-purchased (in February) or $50 per adult at the door, with children under 16 admitted FREE. For the eighth consecutive year, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch is opening her Cruden Farm for Discovery Day 2012, to raise money for the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. More than 3000 people are expected to attend this year's event, which will feature ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS and an exciting line up of entertainment including MC Kate Langbroek, 'The Music Man' Paul Jamieson, the Kazoos, Ice Events DJ, Alejandro the Mexican Music Man, Code One - Police Rock Band, a South Melbourne Dance Centre performance, stilt walkers and roving circus performers. Kids' activities will include exciting rides, face painting, arts and crafts tents, Anaconda rock climbing wall, SOCCERWISE速, mini golf, Shetland pony rides, jumping castles and much, much more. The count down is on.... It's the first triathlon event of this magnitude to come to Australia's shores! Locals will be able to experience first hand the world renowned Ironman AsiaPacific Championship when the 3.8km swim takes place in Frankston's foreshore, the 180km bike leg winds its way through Frankston City's streets heading to EastLink, and the 42.2km run begins here before the triathletes reach the finish line in St Kilda. The Official Fan Site - Keast Park Nepean Highway, Seaford Sunday, 25 March 11:00am - 7:00pm Enjoy fun with the family as you cheer on the athletes on their 42.2km run to St Kilda. Food, jumping castle and activities will be at this site. There is limited parking available onsite so why not catch a shuttle bus between Frankston and St Kilda? Only $10 all day, stopping at the three fan sites: Keast Park, Mordialloc and Brighton.
