Winter in the winelands is a time of crisp air, golden hues, and the zesty joy of fresh citrus. At Boschendal Farm, the cold winter months herald a farm-wide celebration of its famed citrus fruits with a series of special events for the entire family. The Boschendal Citrus Festival is taking place till end-July, and includes citrus-inspired decorations, menus incorporating the crisp flavours of oranges, lemons and mandarins, and a series of Winelands experiences designed to inspire a love for authentic winter citrus flavours. In addition to a series of specially tailored events, Boschendal will also bring the joy of citrus to every aspect of the guest experience. Wine tastings will feature special citrus and chocolate pairings for a limited time, with locally produced chocolate incorporating citrus picked from Boschendal’s orchards.

Every Saturday in July, guests can enjoy an Orchard Citrus Experience. A tractor ride into Boschendal’s orchards

Just 3hrs away from Cape Town along the famous Route 62 lies Sanbona, (The name meaning a combination of the ‘San’ people (Bushmen) who roamed the area for thousands of years and ‘bona’ representing their vision in order to position this portion of the Little Karoo). As one of South Africa’s largest privately-owned nature reserves, Sanbona offers so much more than just the Big 5. The Sanbona terrain supports vegetation consisting of two distinct biomes, each of them a globally recognised biodiversity hotspot: Fynbos and Succulent Karoo. As custodians of the extensively diverse landscape, The Sanbona Reserve team take conservation seriously. Sanbona pioneers a multitude of conservation programs enhancing the unique ecosystem of the reserves development and eco-tourism.
