It is hard to believe that another year has passed so quickly and that we are already into 2018. On behalf of our team, we wish you all the very best in the new year. In this issue we proudly introduce two exciting new destinations: the InterContinental Fiji in the South Pacific, and The Anam Resort in the southern region of Vietnam. In our American Legends section we feature the amazing Bette Midler who returned to Broadway in the 2017 production of Hello Dolly. The Anam is located on Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula, just 20 minutes from Cam Ranh International Airport, and 30 minutes from Nha Trang City, one of Vietnam’s iconic beach destinations. It is easily accessible by road, rail or air, just an hours flight from Ho Chi Minh City and an hour and a half from the city of Hanoi. The resort boasts over 300 meters of beach on one of the world’s most beautiful bays. There are stunning views across the ocean and its islands to the east and the rugged jungle clad mountains to the west. AN AMERICAN LEGEND Multi Grammy Award-winning singer, comedienne, author and actor who has played a range of roles from comedies to dramatic. After minor roles in several “made for television films�, she played one of the most memorable roles of her career in the 1979 film The Rose, a film partially based on the life of Janis Joplin; for this role, Ms. Midler received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Soon after, she embarked in a series of comedies opposite actors like Nick Nolte, Richard Dreyfuss, Danny DeVito and Lily Tomlin to name a few. Her performance in the 1988 film Beaches proved once again her versatility in taking more serious roles as she received great reviews for her portrayal of an aspiring singing actress along with a lawyer, played by Barbara Hershey. Their friendship begins when they are children and continues throughout the decades surviving a series of challenging situations. To many young fans, Ms. Midler is well known for her role as a witch in the classic 1993 film Hocus Pocus. Ms. Midler continues her successful career on film and on stage and in 2017 she starred in the revival of Hello Dolly on Broadway. She can be seen in Las Vegas where she performs from time to time.
