Who are Frasers Property Australia?

Since 1924, Frasers Property Australia has delivered award-winning communities and created stronger, smarter, happier neighbourhoods.

International in scale but local at heart, we understand the human side of property. We plan, deliver and manage high-quality, beautiful, and diverse places that enhance the way people live life together. Our experience encompasses the creation of homes, shopping centres, commercial offices, long-term secure rental properties and mixed-use places, carefully conceived to leave a positive legacy in local communities. We are also industry leaders in the provision of renewable and clean energy for the properties and communities we create.

During our legacy, we’ve built over 145,000 homes for Australians. From the projects of TM Burke in the 1920s and 1930s, Hooker Corporation in the 1960s, and Australand from the 1980s to 2014, Frasers Property has always created places and communities in which people feel they belong.

We do this through place-making and a focus on community building, supported by our dedicated community development team. Places and communities conceived in this way enable the people who live and work there to thrive over the long-term.

Sustainability, both from an environmental and social perspective, is at the heart of everything we do. We want a cleaner, better future for everyone and we know we can contribute to this.

Masterplan Update

Since our last community update, there have been some exciting developments for the Bramill site. In December 2022, Maribyrnong City Council issued a planning permit for the first three stages, which includes the construction of 135 three- and fourbedroom townhomes and a new pocket park. The first stage of townhomes within this precinct will be going to market later this year, we can’t wait to share more information on these homes in future updates.

Frasers Property continues to work closely with Council on future stages, to deliver an iconic community for Melbourne’s inner west. Alongside the 135 approved townhomes, we are proposing to deliver:

• Future stages of townhomes

• Apartments

• Neighbourhood shopping centre

• Revitalized heritage precinct (iconic Boiler House, Proofing Plant & Dye House)

• New public open space to connect into McIvor Reserve

• Community facilities

• Targeting 6 Star Green Star Community

• 100% electric community

Construction Activities

We aim to increase liveability in the western pocket of Yarraville by removing industrial uses in a residential neighbourhood, remediating the land and delivering new trees, green spaces, and amenities for the community to enjoy. Transforming a former industrial site into a new residential community is a complex process which includes many different construction activities. In this newsletter we will provide you with a look at what is coming up and when we anticipate these works to occur, subject to authorities.

• Francis Street Stage 1 works are expected to commence in the first half of 2023. Scope of works include resurfacing the two westbound lanes, widening the southern side of the existing road to accommodate left turning lanes into the future development, and construction of a signalised intersection at Roberts St and Francis St.

• Remediation works at 341-355 Francis St are progressing well and forecast to be completed in the second half of 2023.

• Display Suite construction is currently underway with completion expected mid-2023.

• Civil construction is expected to commence on the first stage of townhomes in the middle of the year.

Stories of Bradmill

Frasers Property Australia understands the need to deliver an outcome that is respectful of Yarraville, its residents and celebrates the unique history of the Bradmill site. Hence, we want to speak with the local community to find out what the Bradmill site means to them and how people have related to it over the years. That is why we have launched Stories of Bradmill.

Stories of Bradmill is all about engaging with local residents, former Bradmill employees, communitybased organisations, Council and other key stakeholders, to record the cultural heritage of the site and its immediate surrounds, including through recorded interviews and the collection of photos and other memorabilia.

Key items of interest and facts that inform the cultural narrative of the site and surrounds will be interpreted for incorporation into the Bradmill Yarraville project.

Should you have any great stories, photos or other items that relate to the Bradmill site and wish to contribute, please get in touch via communitydevelopmentvic@frasersproperty.com.au.

You’d be amazed at what we’ve discovered already and how your contribution might help keep the legacy of Bradmill alive.
