Growing up to 35 metres high, you’ll see many Grey Gums around Brookhaven, with white flowers blooming in the summer months. Grey Gums are a favourite habitat of possums, gliders and koalas.
Spotted Gum (Eucalyptus maculata)
The Spotted Gum stands out as an iconic Australian tree with its distinctive smooth, powdery bark. You’ll commonly find Spotted Gums adorning the landscapes of major parks throughout Brookhaven.
Broad-Leaved Ironbark (Eucalyptus fibrosa)
The Broad-Leaved Ironbark, often found on ridges and higher ground, is a distinguished forest tree characterised by its towering trunk, round canopy and distinctive dark, deeply furrowed bark.
Broad-Leaved Paperbark (Melaleuca quinquenervia)
The Broad-Leaved Paperbark thrives along Brookhaven’s creek corridors, showcasing the white and beige papery bark for which it’s named. It blooms with bottlebrush-like flowers from late spring to autumn.
