Joshua: Living the Victorious Life

Don’t Give In

Joshua 18:1-10

Dr. Chris Montgomery | July 7, 2024

(Joshua 18:1) Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.

(Leviticus 26:11–12) I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

1. We need a strategic meeting place with God in our lives.

2. I cannot separate the normal activities of my life from my worship of God.

3. A compartmentalized faith is a compromised faith.

(Joshua 18:3) So Joshua said to the people of Israel, “How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?

4. We all need to be challenged.

(Proverbs 12:27) Lazy people don’t even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.

5. I have got to fight my tendency to become complacent.

6. Compartmentalization always produces complacency, and complacency stunts our growth in Christ-likeness.
