Within the Veil · Dr. Chris Montgomery · April 6, 2025

Exodus 26:31-33

(Exodus 26:31-33) “And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. It shall be made with cherubim skillfully worked into it. And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, on four bases of silver. And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy.

(Exodus 25:8) And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.

The Colors of the Veil:

1. Blue represents the royalty of heaven.

2. Scarlet represents an earthly sacrifice.

3. Purple represents heaven (blue) and earth (scarlet) coming together.

(Romans 5:10) For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His son, much more being reconciled we shall be saved by his life.

1. Jesus is the veil of separation and access.

(John 10:9) I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

(John 14:6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

(Hebrews 10:19-21) Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God …

3. Jesus is the true veil, and he offers me access right now.

(Hebrews 6:19-20) We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf …
