
(Galatians 3:23-26) 23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. 24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
1. Purification was needed to participate in the presence of God.
2. The laver shows us the limitless power of God’s cleansing power.
3. I want to be clean .
(Exodus 38:8) He made the basin of bronze and its stand of bronze, from the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered in the entrance of the tent of meeting.
(James 1:22-25) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
(John 15:3) Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
(John 17:17) Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.
4. The word of God is like a mirror by showing us who we really are in light of who God is.
(Romans 10:17) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
5. Wash yourself in the waters of the word .
6. We must wash ourselves in the waters of the word often .
