Opened in the fall of 2008, the 701 Center for Contemporary Art has established itself as the go-to local space for cutting-edge, contemporary art.

Founded in 1897 as an arm of local government, CMFA is an umbrella organization offering rehearsal and performance space at its ArtSpace in the Vista and support services to a wide variety of local arts groups.

With studio spaces and regular exhibitions, the Tapp’s Arts Center is primarily a haven for the visual arts, but it also hosts theatrical performances, film screenings, readings and musical performances.

First opened in 1930, the 3,000-plus-seat Township Auditorium has hosted such artists as Elvis Presley, Duke Ellington, Pink Floyd and The Clash. Inspired by the relationship of Georgia O’Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz, this exhibition features works by nearly a dozen local creative couples.

2015 marks the 100th year since Georgia O’Keeffe lived and taught art at Columbia College. It was during her time here that she experienced a pivotal artistic breakthrough toward becoming an iconic American artist.

Cottingham Theater: February 26, 7:00 p.m. Hanging Georgia, a theater production by playwright Sharmon Hilfinger, explores the relationship between O’Keeffe and Stieglitz, starting with her time at Columbia College.

The Centennial Celebration will honor Georgia O’Keeffe’s time at Columbia College and in Columbia, and is anchored by four major exhibits plus multidisciplinary programs and events that also celebrate O’Keeffe’s larger impact as a beloved American artist.
