Treble Cone is the closest ski area to Wanaka, located a short 35 minute drive away. From Queenstown, Treble Cone is a 90 minute drive.
TERRAIN
Treble Cone is the largest ski area in the Southern Lakes with the largest vertical drop. Long, sweeping, uncrowded groomed runs and outstanding off-piste is serviced by a 6-person express lift, a quad chair and 2 beginner lifts giving access to expansive terrain catering for all abilities and the highest average annual snowfall in the country! KIDS ON THE MOUTAIN
Ski lessons begin from ages 6 -17 with full day programmes which include a healthy and delicious lunch. Children aged 2 - 5 can join the Kitty Cat Club for 2 hours of snow play and lessons which includes the use of skis and boots. Group lessons are capped at just 5 kids per instructor.

It’s the ultimate snow experience for a skier or boarder. Imagine, you’re standing in the middle of an untouched powder-kissed paradise; you click in to your bindings, take a deep breath of pure mountain air and contemplate the majesty of your surroundings. You push off and glide into exhilaration. Powder flies, adrenaline pumps and you soon become a tiny figure amongst the immense silence of the mountain world. At the bottom the helicopter awaits to lift you effortlessly to the top of another peak. Your guide will lead you to the day’s best snow conditions. The classic day of New Zealand heli-skiing, exploring a variety of awesome terrain. Conditions conducive, you’re feeling strong, upgrade by taking an extra run or two.
‘Max Vert’ for advanced skiers/boarders who know they’ll push the limits! After 7 runs the choice is yours, go home or go for more runs. Some of our Max Vert groups ski 10-15 runs a day.

How well do I have to ski to go Heli-skiing?
• Alpine buffet lunch
Ideally you are a strong intermediate skier/boarder or better, with a sense of adventure. Harris Mountains Heli-Ski has exclusive access to extensive terrain including easy rolling terrain for powder first timers, wide open bowls and challenging chutes with steep valleys for the more experienced. You’ll be part of a group of four led by a guide who is committed to your safety and enjoyment of this alpine environment. Ask Ski Express for our Ability Questionnaire to help establish your ability and the best group for you.

How does the weather affect Heli-skiing?
If adverse weather prevents flying, clients will receive a full refund. If some heli-skiing is possible but less than the guaranteed vertical, they will refund NZ$100 per run. Note: Refunds are not given due to lack of ability, lack of fitness or injury.
How does the Heli-ski day work?
After an early morning weather check, we collect you from your accom & take you to the staging area. Start with a safety briefing covering avalanche transceivers, helicopter and mountain safety, before flying off to the first heli-ski run. All groups meet for a alpine buffet lunch with time to relax. The afternoon is back to the ultimate - more heli-ski runs.
Do I need powder skis?
No but the new wide body powder skis will assist you to ski even better, we can recommend a variety of hire equipment retailers.
How long are the runs?
Run length varies depending on the terrain and snow conditions. Our exclusive terrain offers runs that vary between 2000 and 2500 vertical feet of treeless skiing in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks through to steep and gnarly chutes.
What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring your skis/board or hire equipment & warm clothing - a windproof jacket and pants, warm gloves, sunglasses or goggles and sunscreen. The day is spectacular, so bring a camera to capture your heli-ski day.

GETTING THERE
National Park village is closest to Whakapapa ski area and is only a 20 min drive from the village to the ski field. The roads can easily be self-driven and are tarsealed or you can catch a shuttle from Taupo or your Whakapapa hotel for ease and comfort heading up the slopes.
TERRAIN
Whakapapa has 3 quad lifts, 1 brand new gondola, 3 t-bars. Happy Valley has a double chair and 3 carpet lifts.

Ohakune is the closest town to the Turoa ski area and is only a 20 min drive from the town to the ski field. The roads can easily be self-driven and are tarsealed or you can catch a shuttle from your hotel for ease and comfort heading up the slopes.

This program is all about making learning to ski or ride easy, fun and includes everything that is needed for a 4 day ski experience eliminating the need for you to book individual components. Includes:

If you are flying into Queenstown International Airport, then you will need to organise transport to Wanaka, located a short, scenic 60-minute drive away. There are a range of transfer options from the airport to Wanaka, including daily scheduled bus services and private shuttles. To get you up the mountain, the ski resorts offer shuttle buses that leave from downtown or from your accommodation and will take you up to Cardrona, Treble Cone and Snow Farm
Driving more your thing? Then grab a rental from Queenstown Airport, a 4WD with a set of chains is ideal and there are plenty of companies to choose from. They also provide car seats, ski racks and GPS as add ons. Remember it’s winter and you will be driving on mountain roads so just take it easy and drive to the conditions.

Our youth ski and snowboard program operates daily and is specifically designed for kids and teens, encouraging maximum participation, safety and fun. It's an excellent way to make new friends, improve skills and have a great day on the hill.

Mt Ruapehu has New Zealand’s largest fleet of skis and snowboards, PLUS we have toboggans, waterproof jackets and pants, helmets and wrist guards. Save time and money with a 3, 4 or 5 Day Flexi Rental ticket. You can use this on the mountain for equipment rental over any 3, 4 or 5 days throughout the season. Conditions & General Information Driver’s age: Min. 21 years, no max age.
Driver’s Licence: A full and valid Driver Licence is required and must be sighted at the start of the hire. If the Driver Licence is not in English, it must be accompanied by a current International Driver Permit or official translation. Rates include: GST, unlimited KMs, standard motor vehicle insurance, and 24-hour roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns.
Minimum hire: 3 Day minimum rental is required for same depot returns. A minimum rental of 10 days is required when travelling between North & South Island.

Excess Liability: Clients are responsible for the first $2,000 of any claim. Apex accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, China Union Pay, or Union Pay International credit cards and bank issued Visa or Mastercard debit cards.
Excess Reduction Cover: Reduce your excess liability to zero. NZ$19 per day for 3-20 day hires & NZ$15 per day for 21+ day hires. Branch hours: Standard hours for most branches 8am to 5pm. Major airport locations will meet flights or provide after-hours instructions.

BOOKING INFORMATION & CONDITIONS VALIDITY
This brochure is valid for sale from Jan 2020 for travel from Jun to Oct 2020 unless otherwise stated. All details in this brochure reflect information available to Australia New Zealand Central Reservations Office Ltd (herein after referred to as ANZCRO) at the time of printing (Jan 2020). ANZCRO reserves the right to amend any details without notice. Ask your Travel Agent to confirm details at the time of booking.
DEPOSITS
A non-refundable deposit of $110 per person is required within 6 days of confirmation. This will guarantee your confirmed holiday price. Some activities/products have their own strict deposit regulations which you will be made aware of at the time of booking. Failure to pay the deposit within 6 days of confirmation will result in automatic cancellation of all travel arrangements.
PAYMENTS
Full payment is due 30 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 30 days of intended travel are to be paid in full immediately upon confirmation. Certain special airfares may require payment immediately upon booking. In the event that ANZCRO agrees to the acceptance of Credit Card payments, they will be made available through special arrangement with the Travel Agent, ANZCRO reserves the right to charge a fee to the Credit Card Holder for this service.
LATE BOOKINGS
ANZCRO reserves the right to charge a late booking fee of $33 to cover additional costs associated with bookings made within 10 days of travel.
AMENDMENTS
First time amendment is FREE. All additional amendments are liable to a maximum charge of $33 per amendment. Once Travel Documents have been issued, all amendments will be charged. Airline tickets have additional amendment charges. Please ask your Travel Agent. Note: If amendments are made, pricing for the full item will reflect the exchange rate valid at the time of the amendment.
REFUNDS
ANZCRO: • Unused Car hire - NIL • Unused Accommodation/Sightseeing vouchers refunded at the sole discretion of ANZCRO Product & Service providers are unable to authorise any refund on ANZCRO behalf. Any refunds due cannot be processed until the relevant funds have been returned by suppliers to ANZCRO.

PACKAGES
Prices are per person, multishare as stated and are subject to availability. Packages are valid for sale until 30 Apr 20 however if stated some run only until 31 Mar 20. Prices are shown for travel in June 20. Surcharges and discounts may apply for travel at other times or for bookings made outside the sale to date. Please enquire for prices outside of June 20. Prices are correct at time of print (Jan 2020) but are subject to change without notice. Ski product included in the packages are non-refundable. Ski conditions & season length vary from year to year. Where a package includes a Thrifty vehicle with a pick up from the airport, the airport fee pick up fee has been included in the package price however this is paid direct in New Zealand on collection of the car hire. Where a package includes GO Rentals vehicle as this is an offsite airport location there is no airport pick up fee payable.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
ANZCRO strongly recommends that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy at the time of booking. Your Travel Agent will be able to advise and assist you with this. Cancellation fees charged by ANZCRO will not be waived under any circumstances, where travel insurance may have covered you.
BAGGAGE
All baggage and personal effects are, at all times, at your own risk. Any excess baggage charges are the responsibility of the passenger.

SNOW SEASON
Snow & ski conditions are entirely subject to natural weather conditions. ANZCRO does not take responsibility for snow & ski quality. Generally in New Zealand the ski season operates from mid-June to the end of September. ANZCRO takes no responsibility for the start and finish dates for skiing at any New Zealand ski fields.
PRICING
All prices in the brochure are expressed in Australian dollars. All pricing for New Zealand include New Zealand Goods & Services Tax. ANZCRO reserves the right to amend without notice, any prices in this brochure. We refer particularly but are not limited to amendments due to currency exchange fluctuations, the withdrawal or adjustment of contracted rates with land & service providers, New Zealand or Australian Government charges & printing errors. Rates in this brochure reflect information available to ANZCRO at the time of printing (Jan 2020) & all possible care has been taken in its compilation. Current valid prices will be advised on request & confirmation by way of invoice to your Travel Agent when your booking is made. Pricing will be guaranteed only after ANZCRO has received total payment.
DOCUMENTATION
A valid passport is required by all travellers to New Zealand. Those not travelling on an Australian Passport may require a Visa. This is the travellers responsibility. Air Tickets and Travel Vouchers will be issued after full payment has been received by ANZCRO. Documents will be forwarded to the Travel Agent by standard mail. If Express Post or a Courier is required, a fee will be charged at ANZCRO’s discretion.

NZETA - New Zealand Immigration Visa Changes
