Corona Stichalong Japanese Knot Bag Part 3
A good way of deciding how you want to stitch is to go to Pinterest.com and search on the words "Boro" and "Kantha". There are so many ideas there. Almost all the stitching is a plain and easy running stitch. One approach is the just do long rows of running stitch throughout. Another approach is to outline some of the details in your patches. In the original bag I made, the yellow one done with Shot Stripes, I did long line within each patch with an occasional swirl. The choice is yours. Here is the dotty bag I am doing now. I chose contrasting threads and am beginning to just sew each dot down, about 1/8" from the raw edge. I have no idea where it will take me! Be sure to post your progress on the bags you are making.
