FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Use a 1⁄4" seam allowance throughout. Sew all pieces with right sides together and raw edges even using matching thread.

Quilt Top Assembly:

1. Noting Quilt Layout on page 45 arrange the blocks in 3 rows as shown. Sew blocks within each row together, horizontally first, then vertically. Stitch rows together.

2. Add the triangle borders made in Section 1, pages 4-6 (top/bottom 41⁄2" x 481⁄2", sides 41⁄2" x 701⁄2") to complete the quilt top.

Finishing:

3. Cut and piece the backing to measure 64" x 78". Layer the backing right side down, batting, and quilt top right side up. Quilt or tie as desired.

4. Prepare binding from (7) 21⁄2" x WOF Fabric K strips cut with Section 1, page 4. Sew strips together into one long binding strip. Press strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together.

5. Carefully trim backing and batting even with quilt top.

6. Leaving an 8" tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately 12" from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together right sides together. Trim seam to 1⁄4" and press open. Finish sewing binding to quilt.

7. Turn binding to back of quilt and blind stitch in place.
