Instructions

WOF = Width of Fabric; HST = Half Square Triangle

All seam allowances are 1⁄4” (.64cm) and pieces are sewn right sides together.

Note: If you received the fabric for the entire quilt top at one time, first cut Fabrics A-N into strips 43⁄4” x WOF. Follow all further cutting instructions as listed. Fabrics A, C, E, G, I, K and M cut: (2) 43⁄4” (12.07cm) squares

Four Patch Blocks 1. Sew a 31⁄2” (8.89cm) Fabric O and P strip together along one long edge. Press towards Fabric P. Cut (12) 31⁄2” x 61⁄2” (8.89cm x 16.51cm) units. (Fig. 1) Fig. Fig. 11

Fabrics B, D, F, H, J, L and N, cut: (1) 43⁄4” (12.07cm) square

Square in a Square Blocks 3. Sew a Fabric Q HST to 2 opposite sides of a 43⁄4” (12.07cm) Fabric A square, centering the triangles on the square. Press the seam allowances towards the triangles. Sew Fabric Q HSTs to the top and bottom of the Fabric A square. Press. (Fig. 3) Repeat to make (2) Fabric A Square in a Square Blocks (61⁄2” (16.51cm) square). Fig. 3 Fig. 3

Repeat Step 3 using Fabric Q HSTs and 43⁄4” (12.07cm) squares to make (2) each Fabric C, E, G, I, K and M Square in a Square Blocks. (Fig. 4)

Repeat Step 3 using Fabric R HSTs and 43⁄4” (12.07cm) squares to make (1) each Fabric D, F, H, J and L Square in a Square Blocks and (6) Fabric P Square in a Square Block 1. (Fig. 5)

Sew a Fabric Q HST to the left side of a 43⁄4” (12.07) Fabric B square and a Fabric R HST to the right side. Press the seam allowances towards the triangles. Sew a Fabric Q HST to the top and a Fabric R HST to the bottom of the square to make (1) Fabric B Square in a Square Block (61⁄2” (16.51cm) square). (Fig. 6)

Sew together (1) Fabric P Square in a Square Block 2, (1) Four Patch Block, and (1) Fabric P Square in a Square Block 1 as shown. Press the seam allowances towards the Four Patch Blocks. Repeat to make (6) Four Patch Rows (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm). Sew the Fabric B Square in a Square Block between the (2) Fabric A Square in a Square Blocks as shown to make Row 1 (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm)). Press the seam allowances towards the Fabric A Blocks. Repeat Step 9 with Fabric C and D Blocks for Row 2, Fabric E and F Blocks for Row 3, Fabric G and H Blocks for Row 4, Fabric I and J Blocks for Row 5, Fabric K and L Blocks for Row 6 and Fabric M and N Blocks for Row 7. Sew together Rows 1, 2 and 3 alternating with (2) Four Patch Rows (181⁄2” x 301⁄2” (46.99cm x 77.47cm). Sew a Four Patch Row to the bottom of Row 4 (181⁄2” x 121⁄2” (46.99cm x 31.75cm)). Repeat Step 11 using Rows 5, 6 and 7

Note: There will be (1) Four Patch Row not sewn to any other rows.
