INCREASES FREQUENCY TRANSPORT WITH ITALY

TX Logistik AG is further expanding its intermodal connections between Germany and Italy. As of February 22, the rail logistics company, which is part of the Mercitalia Group, will expand the number of weekly round trips on the route between Rostock and Verona from four to six. The reason for the higher frequency is the increased demand for trailer transports by rail.

In the first few weeks of the year, TX Logistik has already increased the number of trains to Italy on other routes. The connection between Leipzig and Sommacampagna-Sona, around ten kilometres west of Verona, has been increased by two more round trips from eight to ten per week.

Additional intermodal trains also run from Lübeck to northern Italy. Between the Baltic Rail Gate in the Hanseatic city and the Quadrante Europa terminal in Verona, TX has added an additional eighth round trip to the service. For the second Lübeck connection to the Milan metropolitan region, the number of round trips has been increased by two up to four. Instead of Melzo, the terminal in Segrate will now be served. The terminal is even closer to the metropolis of Milan and the industrial areas of Bergamo and Brescia. In addition, numerous Mercitalia connections to other destinations in the Italian railway network, for example to Rome, Naples and Sicily, can also be used over there.
