Yves Delorme is the French international brand of luxury home linens uniting Poetry, Audacity, Excellence and Savoir-Faire, since 1845; and is one of the oldest brands in the industry in Europe. This particular year marks the creation of of a linen weaving facility near Lille, by Ernestine Fremaux and her husband. Over the course of time, and with future generations, the company grows, consolidates its experience and savoir-faire, and succeeds in the afﬁrmation of an authentic personality: creative, exacting and courageous.

Chaque saison la nature nous enchante et nous inspire pour créer la nouvelle collection.

Notre monde, notre jardin, est au centre de ce que nous sommes.

Aussi, avons-nous décidé de nous engager davantage dans la préservation de ce monde merveilleux qui est le nôtre. Notre engagement se fera à notre échelle et progressivement. Pour lancer ce mouvement nos collections à partir de l'automne-hiver 2020 sera entièrement réalisée avec du coton bio ou du coton supima aﬁn de réduire notre empreinte environnementale. Cette collection sera progressivement emballée dans des pochons d’organza réutilisables à la maison ou en voyage, ce qui nous permet de réduire sensiblement l’utilisation de plastiques et l’impact logistique.

Ces actions fortes complètent un travail qui a débuté il y a quelques années dans notre atelier de tissage de Sevelinges et qui se poursuit cette année avec le déménagement du siège et de l’atelier de confection des Hauts de France qui seront plus économes en énergie et mieux adapt é s aux hommes et aux femmes qui y travaillent.

Each season, Nature enchants and inspires us to create a new collection. Our world, our garden, is at the very heart of our identity. Thus, we commit ourselves even further in the preservation of this marvellous world of ours.

Our actions will be within reach and progressive.

To launch this movement, the Fall-Winter 2020 Collection and going forward, our collections will be completely designed with organic cotton or Supima cotton in order to reduce our environmental footprint.

This collection will be progressively presented in recyclable silk organza pouches for reuse at home or for travel, allowing us to reduce considerably the use of plastics across our logistics.

These strong actions complete a project that began several years ago in our weaving facilities in Sevelinges and that continue today with the relocation of both our headquarters and tailoring studio to Hauts de France, which will prove more energy efﬁcient and better adapted to the men and women employed.

Eco-gestes quotidiens

La Maison soutient également la pratique des éco-gestes au quotidien pour préserver nos ressources naturelles et pour le bien être de nos salariés.

Nous, Yves Delorme, favorisons des bâtiments moins énergivore, fonctionnant suivants les principes de l’économie circulaire. Cela permet ainsi, de diminuer l’impact de CO2 : en unissant les ateliers de teintures et de fils, afin de réduire les transports pour laisser place à un transport de marchandise hebdomadaire et non plus quotidien, et en utilisant des ressources se trouvant à proximité de nos ateliers, afin d’éviter des dépenses énergétiques. Dans certaines de nos manufactures, nous récupérons les eaux de pluie, afin de nous en servir pour repasser nos produits et nous favorisons l’adoption de l’eau de source (80 %), pour éviter les traitements de celleci et son transport. Notre Maison porte également une attention toute particulière au recyclage dans nos ateliers et bureaux avec la mise en place des bacs de récupération et le tri sélectif de déchets.

Daily Eco Gestures

Yves Delorme supports the daily practice of eco-responsible actions in order to preserve our natural resources and for the well-being of our employees. We, Yves Delorme, have chosen energy efﬁcient work spaces that operate according to the principles of a circular economy.

Actions that allow us to lessen the impact of CO2 emissions include the uniﬁcation of our dyeing and yarn facilities in order to reduce the transportation of merchandise to a weekly basis over daily, and by the utilization of resources found in close proximity of our facilities in order to avoid excess energy waste. In certain facilities, we practice rain-water harvesting to iron our textiles and we also favor utilizing spring water in order to avoid chemicals and the effects of excess transportation. Yves Delorme gives particular attention to recycling in our studios, ofﬁces and warehouses by providing recycling and sorting bins.

En Avril 2017, Audrey Azoulay, Ministre de la Culture et de la Communication, a remis les insignes de Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres à six artisans de maisons membres du Comité Colbert, dont Jacqueline Deverchère, Chef d’atelier création et tissage éponge dans l’atelier de Fremaux Delorme à Sevelinges.

Par son parcours exemplaire, Jacqueline œuvre dans l’apprentissage et la transmission de savoir-faire de la technique éponge Jacquard.

A Living Treasure

In April 2017, Audrey Azoulay, French Minister of Culture and Communications, awarded the insignia “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” to six artisans from houses that are members of the Comité Colbert, one of which is our very own Jacqueline Deverchère, head of the Fremaux Delorme design and towel weaving studio in Sevelinges.

By her exemplary career path, Jacqueline endeavors in the apprenticeship and transmission of savoir-faire in the techniques of Jacquard towel making.

La maison Yves Delorme a ouvert au printemps 2020 un nouvel atelier de confection à Nieppe dans les Hauts de France assurant ainsi la fabrication française du linge de lit.

Le bâtiment adapté au travail des équipes et économique en énergie abrite toutes les étapes de la confection. Les équipes ont été renforcées et se portent aujourd’hui à 80 personnes expertes du métier.

L’école de confection YD a été relancée aﬁn de transmettre ce savoir faire précieux et d’assurer l’avenir de la Maison dans de bonnes conditions.

L’œil et la main guident la recherche d’excellence qui anime les ateliers Yves Delorme.

The House of Yves Delorme opened in Spring 2020, a new tailoring studio in Nieppe in the Hauts de France, thus insuring the French manufacturing of its bed linens.

The energy efﬁcient building, well adapated to the most modern working conditions, houses all the stages of tailoring. The teams have been consolidated and comprise today approximately 70 experts in the industry.

À 40 km de Roanne, dans un petit village de 1500 habitants qui porte le nom de Sevelinges, Yves Delorme a installé ses nouveaux Ateliers de tissage auto-suffisants. C’est dans cette Région à la longue tradition textile que, depuis 1920, la marque a développé son outil industriel spécialisé dans le tissage d’éponge et de jacquard. Forte de ce précieux patrimoine régional et de son « Made in France », notre Maison Yves Delorme souhaite aujourd’hui améliorer la productivité, développer l’innovation et améliorer les conditions de travail des 25 personnes qui produisent chaque année les 400 000 pièces d'éponge jacquard. Cette stratégie industrielle de conservation des savoir-faire et d’innovation du groupe est incarnée par l’investissement dans un nouveau bâtiment éco-responsable et dans un matériel de tissage à la pointe de la technologie. Les 13 nouveaux métiers à tisser, qui assurent la production de nos éponges et nappes jacquard, fabriquées avec les fibres les plus nobles contribuent à cet objectif. Le fil écru y est teinté, tissé, lavé, et en ressort en produit fini et emballé, réduisant ainsi les étapes d’acheminement et le gaspillage d’énergie.

The Yves Delorme Weaving Studio in Sevelinges

40 kilometers from Roanne, in a small village with a population of 1,500 named Sevelinges, Yves Delorme established an auto-sufﬁcient weaving studio. It is in this particular region with a long tradition of textile weaving that, since 1920, the brand developed industrial tools specialized in toweling and jacquard weaving. Fortiﬁed with this precious regional heritage and the designation, “Made in France,” Yves Delorme aims at further improvements in productivity, innovation and working conditions for the 25 employees that produce 400,000 jacquard products annually.

This industrial strategy, consisting of the conservation of savoirfaire and the innovation of the group, is incarnated by the recent investment in a new sustainable building and in new cutting-edge weaving equipment, comprised of 13 weaving looms that produce jacquard bath and table linens, all made from the most noble of ﬁbers and materials. It is here that ecru, undyed threads are dyed, woven and washed, resulting in a ﬁnished and wrapped product thus reducing the stages of transportation and energy.

L’atelier de Sevelinges réalise toutes les éponges jacquard de la Maison et celles d’autres Maisons de luxe et de mode.

Depuis 2017, nous avons transféré cet ensemble à proximité du site Teintureries et Apprêts de la Trambouze pour une optimisation logistique globale. Le tissage se fait en autonomie, en évitant les émissions de CO2 dues au transport, avec un réel gain de temps et en répondant aux exigences écologiques, tout en maintenant l’excellence d’une fabrication française compétitive. Le textile présente la forme de la mémoire humaine comme enregistrement de gestes techniques. La tradition et le savoirfaire sont renouvelés par la créativité dans notre univers de luxe, pour un nouvel artisanat durable et vivant.

Since 2017, Yves Delorme transferred this particular unit closer to the site of the Teintureries et Apprêts of Trambouze in order to optimize logistics and to avoid pollution due to excessive transportation; resulting in a true gain in time of production, while maintaining ecological requirements as well as the excellence of competitive French manufacturing. Textiles represent the form of human memory as the recording of technical gestures.Tradition and savoir-faire are thus renewed by creativity in our world of luxury, for a neo-craft that is both alive and sustainable.

The weaving studio in Sevelinges produces all of the jacquard toweling of the brand, as well as those of other luxury and fashion brands.

Entre héritage et modernité, Yves Delorme a vocation à la conservation du patrimoine textile français. Participer à la restauration des appartements du Duc et de la Duchesse d’Aumale s’inscrit parfaitement dans cette stratégie de transmission du savoir-faire. L’anecdote veut d’ailleurs que le couvre-lit dont nous avons ﬁnancé la restauration, date de 1845, année de création de la Manufacture par Ernestine Fremaux, créatrice du groupe. Le Domaine de Chantilly est l’œuvre d’un homme Henri d’Orléans, duc d’Aumale (1822-1897). Il n’a eu de cesse tout au long de sa vie de rendre hommage aux richesses du lieu ainsi qu’à ses illustres prédécesseurs, les Princes de Condé. Cinquième ﬁls de la reine Marie-Amélie et du roi Louis-Philippe, dernier roi des Français. Grâce aux précautions testamentaires prises par le duc d’Aumale, Chantilly reste, plus d’un siècle plus tard, un écrin de richesses préservé où le charme du e siècle continue d’opérer.

Combining tradition and modernity, Yves Delorme believes in preserving the legacy of French textiles. Being part of the restoration work on the apartments of the Duke and Duchess of Aumal is a perfect illustration of the effort to carry on these traditions. It is said that the bedspread that we paid to restore was produced in 1845, the very year that our factory was established by Ernestine Fremaux, our company’s founder. Domaine de Chantilly is the brainchild of one man: Henri of Orléans, Duke of Aumale (18221897). Throughout his life he strove to honour the treasures of the region and his illustrious ancestors the Princes of Condé. He was the ﬁfth son of Queen Marie-Amélie and King Louis-Philippe, France’s last king. Thanks to the directives in the Duke of Aumale’s will, more than a century later Chantilly remains a haven where the charms of the 19th century can still be enjoyed today.

L’Helvetica fût créée en 1957 sur la base de la police Neue Haas Grotesk de Max Miedinger, graphiste suisse, pour répondre à un besoin précis : dessiner un caractère qui colle à l’époque naissante, une époque moderne, en pleine accélération des techniques et des modes de vie. Helvetica was created in 1957, based on the Neue Haas Grotesk font by Swiss graphic designer Max Miedinger, in order to meet a very speciﬁc need: ﬁnding a font that was in harmony with the emerging era, the modern era, as it sped towards heightened technology and new lifestyles. Rechristened Helvetica in 1960, the font became synonymous with Swiss design, rigour and precision.

Adobe Garamond regular

The French font par excellence. These font families bear the name of one of the greatest punch cutters of all times, and were extremely popular during the 16th and 17th centuries - and now they are back. In the 1520s, the famous Parisian editor and printer Robert Estienne contacted Claude Garamond to order a Latin typeface.

This font is best kept for editorial and humoristic texts. They evoke French tradition, timeless elegance and classic style.

Le coton est l’une des ﬁbres naturelles les plus utilisées car elle possède des propriétés de tissage exceptionnelles et est particulièrement résistante.

Yves Delorme utilise le coton longues fibres biologique qui est considéré comme le plus luxueux du marché en raison de ses fibres plus longues que celles des autres variétés de coton. Cette caractéristique est renforcée par le peignage qu’il subit une fois démêlé, peignage qui allonge, affine et renforce ses fibres.

Cotton is among the most frequently used natural fibers, due to its exceptional properties conducive to weaving, in addition to its sturdiness.

LE LIN / LINEN

Le lin semble être le plus vieux textile du monde. Son origine remonterait à la période néolithique. Il y a près de 8 000 ans que l’on a découvert le lin tissé. On l’utilisait à l’époque principalement pour la confection des vêtements mais également pour la momiﬁcation en égypte notamment. Les qualités naturelles du lin en font une ﬁbre particulièrement adaptée au linge de maison. Absorbant, aéré et solide, il ne peluche pas.

Linen appears to be the oldest known textile in the world. Its origins apparently date back to the Neolithic Age. Woven linen was discovered around 8,000 years ago. At the time, it was mainly used to make clothing, but was also used for mummification, particularly in Egypt. The natural qualities of linen fibers are particularly suited to household linens. Absorbent, sturdy and lint-free, linen feels cool to the touch.

Only 1% of the production of Pima cotton carries the trademark Supima® which is the guarantee of an exceptional quality. It is 45% more resistant that other cotton and the fibers of Supima® cotton are 35% longer than the average cotton, rendering it softer and more lustrous.

LA PERCALE / PERCALE WEAVE

La percale Yves Delorme est 100% coton peigné longues ﬁbres biologique.

C'est un tissu sans envers dont le rapport chaîne est de 2 ﬁls, le rapport trame de 2 duites.

Il est réalisé au grâce au croisement des ﬁls le rythme est de :

1 pris, 1 laissé. Ce tissage donne un aspect mat au tissu. De la douceur, une bonne résistance au boulochage et un excellent rendu des impressions, la percale offre à votre linge solidité et longévité, avec un toucher sec et froid. C’est un tissage phare dans les collections Yves Delorme.

Percale by Yves Delorme is made of 100% long fiber combed organic cotton. It is a fabric without a reverse side where the warp ratio is 2 threads, and the weft ratio is 2 picks.

The weave crosses the threads in a rhythm of 1 thread taken up and thread left. This weave gives the fabric a matte aspect. With a soft finish, strong non-pilling properties, and excellent print rendering, linens made of percale weave are robust, long-lasting, and are cool and dry to the touch. This is a signature weave in the Yves Delorme collection.

L’ÉPONGE VELOURS / TERRY VELVET

Les serviettes en velours sont dans un premier temps tissées avec des boucles sur les deux faces, puis l’une d’elle est rasée. Cette opération permet d’apporter un aspect velouté à l’article. Le terme, qui vient du latin villosus « couvert de poils », s’applique à des textiles très variés, chez Yves Delorme le velours est réalisé à partir de coton et il est surtout utilisé pour l’éponge et les coussins de décoration.

Our velvet towels are first woven with loops on both sides, then one side is sheared. This process gives the towels a velvety aspect.

The term comes from the Latin word villosus which means “shaggy” and can be applied to a wide variety of textiles. At Yves Delorme, velvet is used mostly for terrycloth and decorative pillows. to implement a pattern directly on the loom, for both bedding and terry fabrics. The manner in which the threads are woven together creates the pattern.

LE SATIN / SATIN WEAVE

Le satin Yves Delorme est 100 % coton peigné longues fibres. Les draps sont tissés avec une armure satin, où un fil de chaîne enjambe plusieurs fils de trame ce qui donne un toucher plus doux et soyeux, une apparence brillante et de la fraicheur.

Le satin est très utilisé dans la collection notamment pour le modèle « Triomphe ».

Satin weave by Yves Delorme is made of 100% long fiber combed cotton. Sheets are made with a satin weave, where one warp or weft thread crosses over several threads, for a finish that is softer and silkier to the touch, providing a shiny, cool finish. Satin weave is frequently used in the collection, particularly for the Triomphe range.

Il s'agit d'une technique de tissage inventée par Joseph-Marie Jacquard au e siecle. Elle permet de créer un motif par l'entrecroisement spéciﬁque des ﬁls et des couleurs directement sur le mètre à tissu.

Wash your linens directly in your washing machine, unless dry cleaning is indicated (for example, piqué coverlets, or delicate fabrics such as wool or mohair).

Wash your Yves Delorme linens separately from the rest of your laundry; be sure to avoid mixing them with polyester items.

Polyester fabrics tend to pill, and the pills catch on natural fibers, altering the soft, supple aspect of your textiles. Furthermore, clothing with buttons or zippers could cause damage to your delicate linens during the laundering process.

Before first use, be sure to wash all sheets, terrycloth items and table linens separately.

Do not overload your washing machine; the linens must be able to move freely, you should have a hand-width of space between the drum and the laundry.

As for shrinkage, all textiles made of natural fibers are subject to slight shrinkage, around 4% for Yves Delorme products depending on the fibers.

The dimensions of our products take the shrinkage potential into account. However, articles that are washed and dried at high temperatures may shrink even more.

• React quickly and treat the stain right away

• Use a clean, white cloth to blot the stain and take up as much excess as possible

• Blot carefully in order to avoid damaging the fibers

• Work from the edge of the stain towards the center, to avoid spreading the stain

• Use cold or lukewarm water; hot water will set the stain

• Spread the fabric out flat and work on the reverse side, never remove a stain on clothing that you are still wearing Marseille soap is an excellent stain remover, rub it in with a little water and rinse it out to remove most stains.

Sécher le linge sur une corde à linge est idéal pour avoir un linge frais et peu froissé. Prenez pour habitude d’attacher votre linge sous le fil à l’aide de pinces à linge. En effet, si vous mettez votre linge à cheval sur le fil, il sèchera moins bien et formera un pli difficile à retirer au repassage.

Line drying is the ideal method for fresh linens with minimal wrinkling. Consider attaching your linens under the line using clothespins. Indeed, if you hang your linens over the clothesline, it will not dry as well and a crease will be formed that is difficult to iron out.

Ne séchez pas votre linge en choisissant une température de séchage trop élevée, il serait plus difﬁcile à repasser.

Do not select a higher drying temperature than is needed to dry your linens, it will make ironing more difficult.

Réglez le sèche-linge de façon à utiliser le cycle de refroidissement à la ﬁn, ce qui contribue à défroisser le linge. La plupart des sèche-linge possède un cycle qui envoie uniquement de l’air sans chaleur une bonne programmation du sèche-linge donnera des résultats satisfaisants et laissera votre linge relativement souple et lisse.

Set the clothes dryer to use the cycle that has a “cool down” phase at the end, this contributes to removing wrinkles from laundry. Most clothes dryers have an “air fluff” cycle that uses air without heat. By using the right cycle on your dryer, the results will be satisfactory and your linens will stay quite supple and smooth.

Sortez rapidement votre linge de votre machine pour éviter qu’il ne se tasse. Défroissez-le en aplatissant certaines parties, notamment les bords des taies d’oreiller et des draps et les extrémités des nappes et des serviettes. Puis, pliez-le soigneusement. Take your laundry out of the dryer right away, to prevent creasing. Flatten certain parts out to remove wrinkles, especially the edges of pillowcases and sheets, as well as the edges of tablecloths and napkins. Then, carefully fold the linens.

Si vous souhaitez sécher votre linge chez vous, à l’air libre, choisissez une pièce qui soit bien sèche et chauffée de façon à ce que votre linge ne prenne pas l’humidité et garde une odeur fraiche. If you want to dry your linens indoors, select a room that is nice and dry, and heat the room so that your linens will keep their fresh smell and won’t mildew.

Le lin / Linen

Le mieux est de sécher le lin sur un étendoir à l’abri du soleil ou d’une source lumineuse pour ne pas qu’il jaunisse. Il faut éviter le sèche-linge car le lin rétrécit facilement, le séchage à l’air libre et à plat est donc la meilleure option.

Ideally, linen should be dried on a portable clotheshorse that is not exposed to the sun or any source of light, to prevent the fabric from yellowing. Avoid using the clothes dryer because linen shrinks easily, the best is to let it dry flat, naturally.

Les éponges / Terrycloth

L’utilisation de sèche linge à température modérée, légèrement humide, est particulièrement adaptée pour le linge éponge, il lui donne tout son gonﬂant et sa souplesse, et préserve son hydrophilie. En revanche, nous déconseillons l’emploi d’adoucissants qui diminuent le pouvoir absorbant des cotons.

The use of a dryer at low heat, slightly damp, is particularly suited to terrycloth linens; this method gives maximum lift and suppleness to the terrycloth, while preserving its absorbent properties. On the other hand, we do NOT recommend the use of fabric softeners as they diminish the absorbent properties of cotton fabrics and make them “slippery”.

Ne pas repassez le lin « stone washed »!

Cette désignation signifie que le produit a bénéficié d’un traitement particulier afin de protéger la fibre et la rendre un peu plus brillante. Il est très important de ne pas repasser ce type de lin pour ne pas casser la fibre et par conséquent abimer votre produit. Le « stone washed » donne également un aspect froissé et vintage.

Do NOT iron “stone washed” linen! This designation means that the product has been specially treated to protect the fiber and make it a little shinier.

It is very important not to iron this type of linen, if you were to do so, you could break the fibers and damage your product. “Stone-washed” fabrics are intended to have a wrinkled, vintage finish.
