A dog born with an extra tail located on its face has become popular online after being rescued from the streets. Narwhal the puppy was discovered by non-profit, Missouri-based organisation, Mac’s Mission, who said, “This is a true experience of having “extra parts” during assembly.” A series of tests revealed the extra tail did not appear to both the canine and it was determined there was no medical reason to remove the unique feature. Mac’s Mission has received numerous adoption requests for Narwhal with social media users describing the puppy as “adorable” and “precious”. Mac’s Mission strives to help animals with “special needs” and has rescued hundreds of dogs, cats, iguanas, rabbits and other wildlife over the years.
Japanese researchers have created a glue that works underwater and can bind objects together in seconds. The aquatic adhesive can glue materials including, glass, metal and rocks. The glue uses ‘electrostatic attraction’ to harness the electric force between molecules which is a method that ensures it lasts longer than other ‘waterproof’ glues. Paper author and polymer scientist, Jian Ping Gong, of Japan’s Hokkaido University, explained the scientists “discovered that the hydrogel could easily be manufactured using a highly scalable, cost-effective method. It can act like superglue in highly ionic environments such as seawater, overcoming issues in currently available marine adhesives.” The global underwater glue market is estimated to generate over $25 billion this year.

NUTELLA Creators of the popular sandwich-spread, Nutella, recently launched a contest giving people the chance to win a two-night visit to a pop-up hotel dedicated to the hazelnut treat. Located in Calistoga in the Napa Valley, California, Hotella Nutella was proposed to open across one weekend in
January. The company invited people to imagine “largerthan-life jars of Nutella and breakfast decor, and hazelnut and cocoa spread-inspired hotel items.” Applicants were asked to submit a oneminute-video explaining why they deserved the unique hotel stay along with plane flights, airport transfers and a Nutella “breakfast experience.” According to Nutella, the entry videos were judged “based on creativity, passion for Nutella and connection to breakfast”.
HOUSEKEEPING OLYMPICS Groups of hotel workers gathered to test their talents in the 30th annual Housekeeping Olympics. Held at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, teams represented various hotels and resorts and competed in events such as, bed-making, the mop relay, confetti vacuuming racing and the toilet paper toss. Housekeeper and participant, Rhanda Moore, said, “I love the crowd, I love the adrenaline, I love the excitement and I love the competition.” First place was awarded to a Venetian housekeeping team followed by the Mirage who came second and Circus Circus taking out third place. President of the Mandalay Bay resort, Chuck Bowling, explained that the event recognises and celebrates the unsung workers within the hospitality industry.

According to the journal ‘Scientific Reports’, the insect is the first of its kind to be found in Baltic amber and belongs to the family of Geometridae butterflies. Scientists from the Bavarian State Collection of Zoology in Munich, revealled the caterpillar is five-millimetreslong and named it Eogeometer vadens. Co-author of the study, Axel Hausmann, said, “Caterpillar finds in amber
are rarities in any instance, and this is the first ever large butterfly fossil to be found in Baltic amber.” Unlike most other butterfly species, Geometridae caterpillars only have two or three pairs of legs instead of the regular five pairs.

When Jazz the giraffe was abandoned at birth, he was luckily rescued by a farmer who found the two-day-old animal alone, weak and dehydrated. Jazz was transferred to the Rhino Orphanage in Limpopo Province, South Africa, where despite being surrounded by rhinoceroses, he found a friend in the centre’s watchdog, Hunter. From their first encounter, the two animals developed an incredible bond with Hunter adopting and watching over Jazz. Reports claim the unusual friends are almost inseparable with Hunter now sleeping beside the young giraffe at night. Caretaker, Janie Van Heerden, recalled that Jazz “was about two days old when he came in. He was very weak, his mother had left him alone, so we had to put him onto IV fluids and yes he is doing a lot better now.”

DOG A dog in Florida has caused chaos after being filmed putting a car into reverse and driving in circles for an hour. Max, the black Labrador, accidentally set the grey sedan into reverse in a cul-de-sac in Port St Lucie, Florida. The car struck a mailbox and a rubbish bin whilst local law enforcement and onlookers tried to figure out how to stop the vehicle. Witness, Anna Sabol, said, “I saw another cop car and another cop car. I laughed. I thought they should give that dog a licence to drive. He was a better driver than a lot of them I’ve seen.” Reports suggested that Max’s owner had briefly stepped out of the car after making a wrong turn. No one was injured during the incident and Max was happy and as healthy as could be when he finally exited the car. Sabol added, “He was doing pretty good until he hit the mailbox. He went around for about an hour without hitting anything at all.”
DRUMMING PRODIGY SCORES SCHOLARSHIP A five-year-old snare drummer has been offered a full band scholarship to the Alcorn State University in Mississippi. Jeremiah Travis started drumming on ABC blocks as a baby and has never stopped. Mother, Nicole Jackson, said, “I am just amazed at his playing level with him being so young.” Travis has also been invited to play in the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite Band when he graduates from high school in 2032. Currently attending Helena College and Career Academy in Greensburg, Louisiana, Travis plays alongside fellow band members who are 10 years older than him and more than double his size. Band director, Chesteron Frye, described the talented drummer as “always working on his skills... Any free time in the band room or when we go on break, he’s drumming on the floor, getting other drummers to come and just asking them ‘can we play, can we play.’”

SONIC STATS After criticism surrounding the original look of Sonic, the release date of the film was delayed to accommodate a redesign. To make Sonic resemble the character in the video game more, he was given new running shoes, gloves and larger eyes. The redesign resulted in the film costing an estimated $5 million over its planned production budget of $90 million. The original 1991 Sonic video game was released by Sega in attempts to compete with Nintendo’s gaming mascot, Mario. By 2014, the Sonic the Hedgehog gaming franchise had made over $5 billion. Actor, Paul Rudd, was in discussions to play
the lead role of Tom Wachowski in May, 2018. One day later, James Marsden was confirmed as an unnamed role which was later revealed as the character, Tom.

This is the new technology coming to future controllers, which is replacing the old rumble effect. Haptic feedback, usually felt

But if you are pulling back the string on a bow to shoot an arrow, you’ll have to squeeze the trigger harder. It’s basically about making it feel
like you are touching the world through the controller; in this case the strain of pulling back on the string.
You can imagine all the ways this could be used in video games to further immerse you in the world!

S You may have heard of new games streaming services like Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud and wondering how they are different from the way we play games already. Currently, we go to somewhere like the PlayStation Store, or Apple Arcade, or GamePass, and we download a game
to our hard drive, then we play it. With these new streaming services, you never actually download the game to your machine. Instead, the game plays on a computer on the other side of the internet, and the video feed streams – like a movie on Netflix – to your screen. The big advantage of this
system is that you don’t need a powerful computer to play the best games; you can even play them on a
mobile phone or TV. The disadvantage is, you need an awesome internet connection for it to work.

HTC Vive Cosmos HTC continues to offer a premium experience with the Vive Cosmos VR headset. This improves on the previous headsets in the lineage by not requiring any external sensor setup to track your movement and greatly improving the motion controls. The internal display is fantastic as well and there is such a great library of games available you’ll have plenty to play. Unfortunately, unlike the Oculus Quest headset, the Comsos is still wired and it’s annoying dealing with the cable while moving around. It’s also worth noting that you don’t need just a powerful PC to run it, but also a DisplayPort 1.2.
Disney+ Netflix has a big rival on its hands. Disney has pulled almost all its movies and TV shows from rival streaming services and started a brand new one of their own. It’s called Disney+ and it is available to stream through a browser, mobiles, Xbox One, PS4, Apple TV and even some smart TVs. The service is very similar to Netflix in the way it operates, only the focus is very much on family-friendly content. The service launched with over 800 shows and movies, which is impressive, and more will come every month. If you like Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and The Simpsons, it’s well worth $8.99/month.

Legendary game developer Rare has announced a brand-new game series. This is big news! This is the studio that invented Donkey Kong Country, Banjo Kazooie, GoldenEye, Battletoads, Kameo, Viva Piñata, Sea of Thieves, Conker… we could go. The game is called Everwild, and it has a very similar visual style to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We know that it is an adventure game that follows the story of three characters as they interact with mythical beasts in a lush and vibrant world. But sadly, it doesn’t look like it will be out for a while.

Fresh from releasing the excellent RPG The Outer Worlds, developer Obsidian Entertainment has announced its next game. It’s a bit like Honey I Shrunk the Kids, where you and three friends are shortened down to a size smaller than an ant. You then find yourself teaming up with others to try and survive locations that would usually be super safe, like your backyard. Of course, nothing is simple when you are super small. Facing off against armies of ants, giant spiders and beetles is tough. At least you can find twigs, pebbles and other such things to craft weapons, tools and buildings!

We can never get enough kart racing games and this newly announced game for 2020 is a follow-up to a title that has been huge in Asia for fifteen years. As the name suggests, drifting is a big part of the gameplay, as that is how you charge your boost. As such, it’s a bit more focused on holding proper racing lines; although there is a power-ups mode as well. There is a massive amount of customisation in this game, too. Not just with the carts – which all look crazy - but also with your little character avatars. You can have a totally unique look to anyone else in the world.

It’s effectively a puzzle game, but unlike any you have seen before.You play the mayor of a world that is very chaotic.You need to find other beings, hold hands with them to make music and fireworks, and then solve puzzles to make them happy. This could involve platforming, logic or even just finding food for them to eat. Even though the things you need to do a super weird, it somehow brings harmony to all the chaos in the world, which is strangely addictive. This is a game where you will find a mouth that wants food, and if you give it food, it will make poop. And if you give the poop to the toilet, it will be happy. Make sense? It’s not supposed to, just relax and give it a go!

The story begins when you crash your airship into a land where the environment is constantly shifting and changing due to natural disasters. As you seek out to solve this devious mystery, you’ll discover a fun, retro-styled action-adventure game that reminds us of the old Zelda games. You and your robot companion get to meet lots of characters and the the randomly generated maps keep things interesting. But it’s the deep, fast combat and perk system that really shine.
WOVEN:
Similar to games like Yoshi’s Woolly World, Woven stars environment and characters with a cool fabric look. Except this is a 3D adventure game with plenty of story to enjoy. As the elephant, you’re an unusual character. However, you can customise your look considerably with patterns and parts you collect. This changes how you can access and interact with the world and enemies, and it’s a blast trying different designs for your character and seeing what it allows you to do and how it helps you progress. The easy-to-master controls certainly help, too.
LOST EMBER:
This is one of those indie games that blows you away with its looks and its ability to just let you relax and explore. There is some light puzzling, but this is mostly an exploration game. You start as a wolf, but you can shift into other animals that you come across. This allows you to head further through the world, as each animal has certain talents you can use to progress. As you go you learn more about the world’s past, but really, its more fun just discovering new animals and landscapes.

The legendary Master Chief returns in a more central role this time around, and thankfully splitscreen co-op play will also be back after being left out of the last entry. Set in a world inspired by ancient Greek mythology, it’s looks like we’ll get to explore a lush environment filled with mystical beasts and magic.
ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM (XBO PS4, PC) Less a remake and more a reimagining, this game is based on the classic 1998 platformer Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey. As Abe, you help the slave-like Mudokons fight for freedom against the industrial Glukkons that rule the world. The super detailed environment, quirky characters and action-packed platforming should be epic.
LEGO STAR WARS: THE SKYWALKER SAGA (PC, XBO, PS4, SWITCH) Will this be the only Lego game released in 2020? Probably not, but it’s the only one The Force will be with! It will join all the Skywalker stories from the nine main movies in the Star Wars series together for one long narrative. Even though most of the films have been seen in Lego games before, we’ve been promised all the content will be new.

(XBO, PS4, PC, SWITCH) We’re finally getting a new game in the greatest creation series ever, Minecraft. And somehow, it’s got no building, crushing or crafting! Instead, this spin-off experience is a co-op dungeon crawler set in the Minecraft world. You’ll be looting, solving puzzles, defeating monsters and avoiding traps as you go, and it could end up being the multiplayer game of the year.
(XBO, PS4, PC) This could very well be the greatest superhero game of all time. For starters, you get to play not as one superhero, but as the entire crew from The Avengers. And they don’t just have one move each, but a huge roster of attacking and defensive abilities that all feel crazily powerful. Add in insane visuals and great cinematic storytelling, and you have a true blockbuster.
OVERWATCH 2 (XBO, PS4, PC) The biggest and most loved hero shooter of them all is getting a tonne of new maps, new characters and even a new game type in this huge sequel. However, it’s the fresh PvE experience that has us intrigued. There will be two big co-op modes, where you team up to face off against robot armies. These will feature unique levelling-up systems and different styles of abilities for each character, which should greatly mix up the experience.
ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS (SWITCH) There are many big Nintendo games that have been announced, but the only one with a firm 2020 release date is the new Animal Crossing. It’s the first game on the series for Switch, bringing endless, cute life simulation gameplay to millions of new fans. Local and online co-op will spice up the experience, plus you can now invite different animals to come stay on your island. As such, you build out not just your farm, but an entire city.

ON BAL very new Dragon Ball ame is grounds xcitement, but this new entry is not just another fighter. This is a proper, action-RPG. There’s sidequests, levelling-up, items to equip and even various moves to shift between. There’s a story, too, of course. This game offers exactly what you would expect, with grand prix, time trials, single race and multiplayer modes. The latter includes four-player splitscreen thankfully, as well as eight-player online. There are eight characters se from and 16 to master. If you’re r with the Garfield you will recognise

In fact, combat plays out very similar to the 3D combat games in the series, with big arenas, spectacular effects and all the strategy we love. a big hit on Nintendo handhelds, and the Switch version offers a similar experience – it even has you interacting with the screen using a stylus. But it also adds in new ideas, such as Joy-Con IR motion controls. For example, there is a rock, paper, scissors game where you hold the Joy-Con, another where you count fingers with motion controls, and another where you must pass the Joy-Con to a friend in remembering games. Obviously, this is not about action and adventure, but it’s surprisingly fun and your parents won’t mind you playing.

FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: REMASTERED If you love your RPGs, then you know the Final Fantasy series. For three decades it has been wowing gamers and not just through its main series. This spin-off title came out on GameCube back in 2004 and brought with it co-op play. A caravan is travelling through the world finding magic crystals and then giving them to towns so that can protect themselves from evil. Unlike the main games in the series, it takes an isometric view of the battlefield, offering real-time combat and puzzle-solving mixed in with cinematic story sequences. All these years later, the game has received a much-needed remaster, adding new visuals and audios, a much more accessible multiplayer experience, and even new content in the form of fresh bosses and dungeons. It still looks old-school, but this remains a hidden gem in the Final Fantasy series and it’s great to have it back.

LONELY L ONELY M MOUNTAIN OUNTAIN (PS4, Switch, PC, XBO) For a change of pace, how about tearing down gorgeous mountain sides from the seat of a push bike? The controls are simple, but he tracks wind through dangerous obstacles, cliffs and wildlife, making it challenging in all the right ways. Your goal is to get down the mountain with the best time, and risky shortcuts tease you into trying new routes. It’s all physics-based, so the way your bike moves down the hill feels different each time. If you like the Trials series, you’ll love this. It’s stacks of fun!

STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER How to Get the Scomp Link One of the most useful tools in the game is the Scomp Link, which allows you to open locked doors and chests. When you get to the planet Zeffo, you’ll eventually unlock the Force Push. As soon as you do, head to the Weathered Monument in
the centre of the map and look for the cracked stone door. Use Force Push to smash it open and jump down into the imperial station. Head to the left of the centre piston and follow the path until you can climb a wall. At the top you will find a workbench and the Scomp Link.

e were warned. Tesla boss Elon Musk hinted that his new toy will look like nothing weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;d seen before, and boy was he right. Many thought it was a joke, but the 2020 Tesla Cybertruck, with its super sharp, yet boring angular design is the real deal! The launch in Los Angeles shocked those in attendance, the media, and the Twitterverse! Complete with a 2 metre long cargo bed and a six-passenger crew-cab, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s almost 6 metres in total length, which puts it up there with other big boy pickups.
It will come with 1, 2, or 3 electric motors, with rear and all-wheel-drive. The base model will hit 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds (quicker than a VW Amarok), and tow up to 3400 kg; the two-motor variant will reach 100 in 4.5 seconds (quicker than a VW Golf), and tow 4535 kg; while the three-motor model will hit 10 in 2.9 seconds (quicker than a Porsche 911) and pull 6350 kg. Range will vary from 400 to 800 km. All versions will come with adaptive air suspension so the monster has a low ride at freeway speeds to better
cut through the air, and killer ground clearance when heading off-road! The clever tailgate has a slide-out tray that doubles as a ramp to load up motorbikes, quads, or jet skis. To help, the rear suspension drops automatically as the tailgate opens! Its front light bar and roof bar are in your face, and its high waistline adds an extra Mad Max dimension to the exterior, while the triangular cab is more at home on Mars than a Bunnings car park!

SHAME OF THE MONTH hen I was at school camp in year three, I really needed to go to the toilet, so I left the hall where everyone was having lunch and went to do a quick poo. After I sat down I realised the door didn’t have a lock, but I thought I would be alright since I was going to be quick. But it turned out that my poo was very big, very smelly and it took very long squeeze it out. To make matters worse, the toilets weren’t labelled male and female and after a few minutes I heard a girl coming. I tried whistling so they knew somone was in the toilet but she opened the door and saw my undies!!! Even worse, when I finished, a teacher came in and since the stink hung around, he congratulated me on my impressive poo and said I should get a special award. How embarrasing! When we I got back to lunch the girl had told EVERYONE! MEGA SHAME!!! Levi
