In the spring of 1965 the hottest ticket on Charles Street was the Upper School's production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "The Sound of Music." With a cast and crew of more than 60 students, we're certain the show's director, former Friends School music teacher and director Jack Brumit, declared it "the best show ever!" Here, Christine Windisch '65, as Maria, engages Captain von Trapp, played by David Collins '65, and the von Trapp children: Liesl (Holly Gunts '65), Friedrich Qames Meath '66), Louisa (Candace Nolan '67), Kurt (Brent Gunts '68), Brigitta (Katherine Rutman '65), Marta (Barbara Styrt '68), and Gretl (Roberta Scott '70) in a little do re mi.
