This digital publication captures excerpts from the New Zealand Freelance magazine of coverage of the 1952 Chatham Cup final between North Shore United and Western, played at Wellington's Basin Reserve on August 30, 1952. Tied 1-1 after 90 minutes, the sides played extra time and were unable to force a result. With no penalty shootout in the 1950s, the cup was shared by the clubs.
