As part of New Zealand's preparation for the 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the All Whites hosted a three-match tour by German club Werder Bremen. Forward Wynton Rufer - a star player for the German club - was selected to play for the All Whites in the series, in which honours were shared. Werder Bremen won the opener in Auckland 2-0 (May 30), lost 2-1 to New Zealand in Wellington (June 1) and the final game in Christchurch was drawn 1-1 (June 3). Programme courtesy of Dave Petraska.
